Ultherapy has been considered "color blind" and in fact performed safely on many patients. However, I will often not use the more shallow, 1.5mm. transducer, on patients who may be prone to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or melasma skin darkening, as this superficial energy compared to the deeper 3 and 4.5mm. transducers, tends to leave temporary swellings or welts for a few hours or days. I am concerned that although most patients won't develop any skin darkening with such reactions, there will be some who may if the 1.5 mm. transducer is used. The information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. Dear Phenomenal7304Thank you for your question. Ultherapy treatment is safe and effective for all skin types. Unlike laser resurfacing and deep chemical peels procedures which are less suitable for darker skin due to the potential risk for burns and hyperpigmentation, Ultherapy it’s a FDA non invasive therapeutic technique that targets area deep beneath the surface of the skin in order to generate collagen production, the protein responsible for skin elasticity. In addition to that, Ultherapy will also help you lift, tighten your skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles Best of luck
Thank you for your question. Ultherapy would not cause skin discoloration. However, make sure that you schedule an appointment with a reputable doctor for best results. All the best.
Thank you for your question. Ultherapy is a good treatment for nearly any skin tone. This device delivers ultrasound energy deep into the dermal structure to constrict tissue and boost collagen levels. I use it on African-American skin with very good results. Make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist who has extensive training and experience in this procedure to ensure an optimal outcome.
Thank you for your question! Although there may be some risk, Ultherapy generally does not cause any discoloration for African American skin tone. Ultherapy will tighten the skin and help with laxity. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a reputable practice to ensure that this procedure is right for you. Best of luck!
This is a great question! Ultherapy is ultrasound-guided therapy focused at tissue under the skin- the skin itself is protected so any risk to the surface of the skin is minimized. That means that the risk for hyperpigmentation is very low to negligible, especially compared to other light or energy based procedures!
Ultherapy is a non-invasive procedure that lifts the neck, chin and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in loss of skin strength and elasticity. For tissue tightening, Ultherapy is ideal for the lower face and neck and we often...
Unless you were treated with a superficial applicator you could do it as soon as 1-2 weeks after your treatment. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
If you do Ulthera 1 week after botox injections there won’t be any impact. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
