Dear lucieluv2these are two completely different techniques of liposuctionBodyJet or Water Jet assisted Liposucction (WAL) is liposuction with this special device consisting of a liposuction canula that sprays Water (to be true normal saline) into you fat tissue and in the same time aspirates the fat. Meaning in total you probably use more liquid than in a tumescent liposuction but: the fat is shorter in contact with the water (there is less tissue swelling DURING the surgery) and there is less swelling of the extracted fat cells. The swelling of the fat cells is just relevant if you are planing to use the fat for fat grafting - like in BBL, fat grafting for breast or face.In lip-edema patients this technique is deemed to be safer and better as well.Using BodyJet in losse skin patients therefore needs an additional technique for skin retraction (mostly radio frequency (RF) or laser) that can be added in the same surgery at the end.Vaser on the other hand is an ultrasound technique for liposuction that in the same time gives some skin retraction. Therefore no other skin retraction technique may be needed and if combined, there may be a higher risk of skin damage.Due to the ultrasound there may be more harm to the extracted fat cells, that may be negative in case of fat grafting.Normally Vaser is performed in tumescent (so a certain amount of liquide is injected prior to the liposuction) resulting in fat cell swelling with negative impact in case of fat grafting.
so both techniques are power assisted light pole suction. What did it generates a high-pressure stream of water which emulsifies the fat into a fatty soup. This minimises trauma, minimises flew in shifts and allows simple removal of the fat with minimal bleeding. Ultrasound assisted like perception like Visa generate heat via Ultrasound waves. This partially liquefies the fat which again makes it easier to remove. Overall, the advantage is as much further surgeon as it is for the patient as it makes the manual effort of my perception easier. You will find surgeons have a preference one versus the other both through their own experience or through availability in the hospital. I would in my opinion be particularly prejudiced against one or the other. Your best advice is to pick aside you believe in rather than the technique you have read about. Hope that helps. Regards, Adam Goodwin.
Hello, and thank you for your question. Body Jet and Vaser are both used for liposuction to help shape the body. Vaser uses ultrasound energy with lipo, while Body jet is water-assisted liposuction. Be sure to speak with a qualified surgeon when choosing a procedure. Best of luck.
Both Body Jet and Vaser are used for Liposuction. Body jets strength is for anesthesia and water assisted Lipo. Vaser is ultrasound based Lipo, with strength of skin tightening and fine sculpting Definition.I have them both!Dr Kristine Brecht Seattle, Wa
Thank you for your query. The hard areas after liposuction are usually because of blood in the tissues and do resolve with time and massages can help. It can take upto three or four months. Sometimes a seroma may also present as a firm mass and that needs to be suctioned with a needle. Your...
This is not unusual. Depending on your size and how much lipo was done, your recovery swelling will vary. At this early interval, your body is programmed to "hold on to fluid" because it doesn't know what happened. Sometimes a diuretic is needed to gently rid your body of the...
You may be retaining fluid after the liposuction procedure. You should check your weight with your pre-procedure weight. You may find you are retaining fluid. This is common and may need a diuretic to eliminate the extra fluid.
