I had body jet liposuction on my upper and lower abdomen. I have 2 areas, above and below my belly button that are hard, sensitive to touch and hurt slightly when massaged. My dr said this would occur and would go away with massage but didn’t give me a time frame. Are these hard areas normal? Will they dissipate and go down? I understand lipo results take time though I’m worried

Answer: Hard areas after Body-Jet Liposuction Thanks for your question. These types of complications are completely normal and part of the healing process from having this type of procedure done. I always encourage patients to continue with manual massage to these areas, which can be done with an ice pack to help reduce the sensitivity experienced. As you continue to heal, these should resolve but if you continue to experience problems, then scheduling a follow up visit with your treating provider is justified.
