Chin implant options - Are there different types besides rounded? (photos)

Question

All ive ever seen is the rounded implants. Are there any where the lowest point is out furthest? My current implant is on my chin flat and the protrusion is a little high

Thank you for your question. Chin implants are available in a variety of materials, such as silicone, elastomers, porous polyethylene, and ePTFE. Silicone implants are generally a preferred option because they are easy to customize to the ideal shape for each patient, and can be easily removed at a later date should that be desired. 
However, all chin implant options are malleable and porous so that they can be held in place by soft tissue and grow into the existing bone while healing. If you are unsatisfied with your current chin implant, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to review your surgical history and concerns to determine the best way to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Chin implants come in multiple shapes and sizes. In addition, custom chin implants are possible. In the CT it looks like a genioplasty was performed? In order to achieve the results that you like, it is simply a matter of choosing the right implant and securing it to the bone in the best position.

Yes, there are many different types of chin implants and I routinely modify those existing implants to customize based on your needs. These can usually be very successful.

Chin implants are manufactured in a large array of sizes, thicknesses, and shapes which is best determined that time of the consultation and examination. They can also be custom carved when necessary for patients unique asymmetric anatomy. X-rays are of no benefit. In our practice, we use Implantech brand of solid silicone implants for over 25 years with an excellent success rate
