Can asymmetry after a osteotomy / genioplasty be corrected? (photos)

Question

Is it possible to straighten this or am I just out of luck? I had a osteotomy/ genioplasty not sure the correct name but one side is slightly high and more forward and the other side is slightly lower and more backward. It would be a slight move so not sure if it can be done it is secured with a plate.

Genioplasty revisions can be done. Not sure when the original procedure was done, but once the bone has healed back up, it is safe to go back in and make adjustment. I would also consider jawline contouring to reduce those bony prominences to create a more unified transition.

The bony anatomy doesn't always match the soft tissue anatomy. I would only recommend correction if there is a clinical asymmetry. The bone can be contoured, shaved and other wise revised without redoing the osteotomy.

Revision surgery is definitely possible. It is not as easy as doing the primary procedure. Revision surgery is basically not that different than the primary procedure. The hardware is temporarily removed the bones are re-cut and the segment is repositioned and fixation is again done with new hardware.
Alternatives to doing this would be adding a custom implant or temporary use of fillers.
