Squeaky noise 18 months post op in submuscular 325cc silicone breast implants

I am not sure implants that did not settle after over one year from a breast augmentation will settle with massage.  Noises are not uncommon.I would go and see your surgeon but do not be alarmed.Have a safe trip home.Best Wishes,Nana Mizuguchi, MD

Hello,Thank you for your question. The increased activity/massage may have caused some fluid to accumulate in the breast pocket which could contribute to the squeaky sound with movement. If your breasts are feeling firm and tight to you, I recommend that you plan a visit with your Plastic Surgeon to be examined and share your concerns.All the best

Squeaking can be felt or heard sometimes after breast augmentation when the breast implants move. This is most common shortly after the initial procedure, and often resolves on its own. It can also happen from time to time after vigorous exercise. Other than the annoyance, it does not usually signal or cause any problems. I have some patients notice it when they travel to higher elevations, and it goes away when they return. The position and firmness of your breast implants is a separate issue. Your recent increase in massage may have caused a little fluid to accumulate around your implants, so when they slides they vibrates creating a sound, much like a wet finger does when it runs around the rim of a crystal glass. 

Sometimes breast implants make a noise when they are massaged vigorously. If you are concerned definitely check back with your surgeon.

The noises that you describe are normal especially with smooth implants.  You can hear more noises with more vigorous activities as exercising, massaging or altitude changes due to swelling.     You should touch base with your surgeon to discuss your noises and hard breasts in the near future.
