Depending on the severity, the 11's can be treated with Botox and/or fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello,Thanks for your question. BOTOX , or other neurotoxins, is the best treatment for the 11's. However, if your lines are deep, BOTOX will soften them but may not totally eliminate them. We often use dermal fillers to fill deep lines. Topical creams and ointments won't get rid of your ll's but they will give a softer appearance to your skin. Those frown lines are created by repetitive movements. That's why using BOTOX to stop those muscles from contracting is the best way to address the issue. A word of caution, know your injector and their qualifications and make sure they are using actual BOTOX and not a bootleg product. Good luck!
The 11's are the lines between the brows. These are caused by overactive muscle activity (the corrugator muscles). Since the cause of these lines is overactive muscles, the best treatment is Botox. Botox doesn't usually make deep lines go away immediately, so consider some filler in the lines at the same time as Botox. Then continue with the Botox regularly and the filler seems like it lasts forever. Serums and creams will do very little.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers
Thank you for your question. This is one of the most common questions I am asked. The 11's are the vertical lines between the eyebrows (the area is called the glabella) due to contraction of the corrugator muscles. Medications, such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport, work to weaken the corrugator muscle and thereby relax the forces that cause the 11's. This is the most reliable means to treat these lines.
Thank you for your inquiry. Botox will help relax your frown lines and reduce your 11s and/or prevent your 11s from forming. A good skin care regimen is very important to maintain your skins youthful appearance. Consult with your board certified plastic surgeon for a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
For deep wrinkles, I would definitely suggest Botox as the most effective treatment. You can consider serums or creams, but those work better for fine lines and wrinkle prevention rather than treatment. You could also consider chemical or laser skin resurfacing.
Botox can freeze the glabella muscle to reduce and prevent deepening of the frown lines. You can use either Botox Cosmetic, Dysport, or Xeomin. Good skin can also complement botox treatments. I personally like Vitamin C serums or products like Obagi with retinols.
To treat the 11s in the glabella Botox, Xeomin and Dysport can work miracles. 15-20 units of the first two or about 70 units of Dysport will get you the results you want. Good skin care is always important and can make a huge difference. I like the Skin Medica and Defenage lines. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, serums and creams will not eliminate those stubborn 11 lines, caused by years of muscle movement. Botox or Dysport are great options to soften or eliminate those lines. If the lines are deep, multiple treatments (every 3-4 months) may be needed to get the results you desire. A small amount of filler can be used if the line is particularly deep.
The 11's are caused by muscle movement. There is no cream that will stop this because the movement needs to be stopped to stop the formation of lines. Botox/Dysport/Xeomin will all work equally well.
I see from you pictures that both lower cheeks are a bit more prominent. I don't appreciate any difference between the left and right sides. But in your question you are saying the left feels heavier. There are many possibilities that can cause a heavier feeling in one cheek. They include...
Thank you for your question. Botox works by weakening the targeted muscles. If the product is inadvertently injected into a muscle that elevates the mouth/cheek, i.e. your smile muscles, then it might cause a change in your smile or possibly a droopy look to the cheek. I have seen this in pat...
Of course you can lift your brow without treating those little crow's feet. Not everyone thinks they are a problem.Botox injection into the muscles that push the brow down (as when frowning) allow the "lift" muscles to stay dominate and keep your brows raised a little. Of course you can't use...
Depending on the specifics of your case, you should be able to have Botox prior to your surgery. I would typically recommend you do it at least two weeks before your procedure. To be sure it’s the right advice for you, I would schedule a consultation with your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question luvbotox. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Most people see the results of their Botox treatment 3-7 days after the treatment, but it could take up to 2 weeks for full ...
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to achieve dimples using BOTOX®. This injectable works by temporarily relaxing the muscle contractions in the upper portion of the face that cause expression lines and, eventually, permanent wrinkles. The presence of dimples, on the other hand, is caused by a fa...
