Hard lumps under skin after liposuction and tummy tuck. What can I do for these? (photo)

phoenixja123 I appreciate your concern, however it is still early in your postoperative recovery journey from liposuction. The lumps you are describing are most likely early, temporary scar tissue combined with normal postoperative swelling. Gentle self massage with moisturizer on the hardened areas will quicken recovery and ease discomfort. It can take as long as six months for all swelling and irregularities to settle down. Try to stay patient and positive and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

After tummy-tuck and especially liposuction, it’s common to see lumps like this. After these surgeries it will go away at about 3 to 6 months. I think these are swelling shaped with corset usage or a small organized hematoma. My recommendation is wait two weeks more (you can apply massage, while you are waiting) and then if it is not decrease, take professional help from your surgeon. Get heal soon

I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a tummy tuck and liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

I personally had liposuction and had firm areas for a few months. When we do liposuction, we can’t completely suction out every since damaged fat cell, so cells in our body “eat” those cells and dispose of them, just like it does with a bruise. It can take 6 months for those areas to soften and eventually disappear. Have your surgeon about your concerns on your next visit. 

it is unusual for a tummy tuck to leave farm areas except for immediately around the incision.  This is probably due to the liposuction.  Typically at six weeks areas of firmness begin to soften.  The slight contour irregularities on the side of the abdomen around your waist may be due to several factors.  Regardless, at this point there's nothing to do with other than to wait 3 to 6 months until your results are final.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
