I agree with all who have said "No" to a heating pad. Most surgery will lead to a change in sensation of the surrounding skin. This is especially true of liposuction. You can't feel normally so you can't tell that the heating pad is too hot. This can result in burns. I have also seen a full thickness burn of the skin when a patient used a heating pad after liposuction. Put your heating pad away please and speak to your surgeon about other methods to treat the pain.
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. I will suggest discussing post op concerns with your surgeon. Every surgeon has their own post op protocols.
Heating pads are a NO in my practice post liposuction. If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physciain wtih expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction. At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing. We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prvent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome. If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo. Best, Dr. Emer.
devoried I appreciate your desire for a quick recovery however, heating pad after this type of surgery is actually contra indicated and please do not apply to affected areas! Sometimes areas treated by liposuction can be somewhat numb temporarily, and application of heating pad can burn the skin because the individual does not feel the excess heat. Confirm my advice with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Sorry for you post op burning issues. This is very common following the J-Plasma therapy/treatments. Usually subsides in few weeks but I have seen this lasts for months. The "burning" effect from the helium gases used is a reeal issue that not much has been offered as treatment options. Best to call the J-Plasma company to file a complaint.
personally I have fairly strict regimen is about not using heating pads after surgery. It's probably the single most rigid thing I recommend. I tried not to change how I practice medicine based on a single episode but many years ago I had a patient developed third-degree burns of her entire abdomen after using a heating pad following a tummy tuck. The numbness caused by the surgery let the patient to not realize she was in a sense "cooking herself" when she fell asleep with the heating pad on. The changes in sensation after liposuction can have patients unable to appreciate the heat from heating pads. You should ask your provider and let him or her dictate your postoperative care. Hi Sydney,To get a snatched waist you need to have aggressive fat removal of the torso/sides and have fat injections on the hips/buttock to give the illusion of an S Curve. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. The best in body c...
BodyTite does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues. It can be combined with liposuction to improve contours dramatically. A short scar TT (The shorter scar it leaves is the same length as that of the mini TT) tightens the muscles, and removes skin and ...
Clinically, a Sustanon dose of 250mg is used every 3-4 weeks for testosterone replacement therapy. Steroids impair almost all aspects of healing, but being off Sustanon 250 for two months prior to lipo should be adequate. If steroids cannot be discontinued due to the tonicity of the problem fo...
