Can I have an unnoticeable nose job?

Absolutely. A natural, subtle, gradual change is the goal for many of our rhinoplasty patients. You have to also understand that there is no such thing as the “perfect” nose. As rhinoplasty surgeons, we are able to improve the structure and function of the nose to address specific issues you have with how your nose looks and and how well you can breathe. Perfect symmetry does not exist in nature. Attempts to improve the symmetry of your nose should be aimed at achieving an improvement in your asymmetry to the point where it is no longer very noticeable. If you look carefully enough, you will always be able to find imperfections. The goal is a normal looking nose that is in harmony with the rest of your anatomy.

Yes you can.Rhinoplasty is often about being subtle. A good rhinoplasty surgeon will recognize that this is a surgery of millimeters. It is also critical to speak with the patient at length to establish their goals and come to an agreement on the desired result.

Hello. Noses that require subtle changes such as the ones you mentioned can be easily operated on without major indications that an operation was carried out. We usually achieve this by doing a closed, or endonasal procedure.

The degree of how aggressive a nose job is done can vary and in your case, removing a small hump and refining a tip is well within the realms of a standard nose job.  Have your surgeon use digital imaging to show you what he is planning on doing to make sure you are in agreement. 

This is just about the definition of "finesse" rhinoplasty, meaning a surgery intended to produce subtle refinements to an already nice nose.  Rhinoplasty should not really be noticeable anyway without looking at the before photos. 

A nose job should always be subtle where the patient and the surgeon can notice the changes but an observer should not be pointing out any changes in the nose.  With a conservative technique this can be achieved.RegardsDr. J

The best cosmetic nasal surgery makes the nose look like it was made for your face, and was never altered. That should be the goal of every rhinoplastic surgeon. Of course this takes a good aesthetic sense, and the experience to make it happen. make sure you consult with surgeons with a long track record of success, and documented training in this complex surgery.

Essentially this is the goal of most patients -  to have an improvement that shows in the eyes, rather than making it clear that any type of surgery was performed.  In my 25 years of experience in rhinoplasty, I believe that structural rhinoplasty techniques are the best way to assure this for patients.  Not necessarily less work-  in fact, these procedures are quite involved-  but delivers a subtle to significant difference, depending on the goals of the surgery.

While minor changes can be performed, close friends will likely know that something was done. The goal is to keep it natural.
