Uneven swelling after lip fillers. Is this normal? (Photo)

In the first few days (up until about two weeks), it is very common for the lip and nasolabial fold to swell asymmetrically. Sometimes one of the pokes results in more swelling than another and the lip can appear uneven. I would give it a couple of weeks and then follow up with your injector to make sure you get as perfect a result as possible. 

Uneven swelling after filler is very common. This will typically resolve within 1-2 weeks. If the asymmetry persists a small amount of hyaluronidase is typically very helpful to reduce the asymmetry. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your question. It is common to have some asymmetrical swelling after lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid fillers which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can help reduce swelling by applying ice to the treated area(s). As HA fillers are not permanent you can have them dissolved with hyaluronidase if unhappy with the results. Uneven swelling can occur with fillers, and this usually gets better over a week or so. AS for lumps and bumps sometimes these need to be addressed with massage. Best to talk with your injector.
