This is something you should discuss with your surgeon who knows you best. For my patients, I don not want them to do any type of formal exercise for 4 to 6 weeks depending on how they are healing. However, walking is good. Good luck.
Thanks for the question. After 1-2 months your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can walk and also do other sport activities. I wish you all the best.
You should speak to your surgical teamabout restrictions following surgery, especially concerning timelines forexercise. At our practice, patients having agynecomastia correction surgery are discouraged from exercise for 4 to 6 weeksand must wear a special compression garment for added support during this time.Of course each patient’s recovery is different and some patients may requiremore time. We do encourage patients to get up and walk and most are able to returnto work after a week but heavy lifting and heavy exercise is discouraged toavoid injury. During regular routine post surgicalcheck ups, the surgeon or nurse can determine what activities a patient canstart slowly introducing and provide realistic timelines for returning to thepatient’s regular exercise regiment.
Dear ntg, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. Generally speaking, most patients are encouraged to walk right after the surgery. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your questionI usually encourage my patient to walk as soon as possible. It is good to reduce the risk of blood clot but also for your mental health : )The important is to wear your dressing/garnment that your surgeon suggested. Not exercice is recommended for 4-6 weeks post-op.Please consult with your surgeon for other follow-up instruction.Best WishesDr Genevieve F.Caron, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonMontreal, Canada
Hello and thank you for your inquiry. A bit of walking is normally encouraged post operation. Any other physical activity is not recommended 4 to 6 weeks after your surgery. Please consult with your board certified plastic surgeon seeing as each surgeon has his or her own post operative instructions. In hopes this has helped answer your question. Best Regards
This is a question your should ask your surgeon, not a bunch of us who don't know you or the extent of your surgery! In general, I encourage easy walking but again, contact your surgeon.
Without pictures and without knowing what kind of gynecomastia surgery you had, it is not possible to give you any specific information. You should get an appointment to see your surgeon promptly and address your concerns to him/her.
I would wait at least 6 months post-gynocomastia to advise patients if they will require more surgery or not. In certain cases if the operation was very extensive, I might extend this waiting time to 12 months, so I would advise you to be patient and reassess the situation in 6 months time.
Seromas occur on occasion, often following some bleeding post-operatively, and they are easily managed with serial aspiration. If you had 2 lbs. of tissue from each side, I'm wondering if you had skin resection with drains. If the drains were removed early or if no drains were used, the...
