I had lower body lift almost two months ago and I feel a bump in my incision like a pin and when I touch or lay on my back it hurts but there is no open wound or anything can you please let me know if it's normal thanks
Answer: Pin-Prick Sensation Post-Body Lift Can Be Normal Thank you for your question regarding the prickling sensation you’re experiencing. It's not uncommon to feel sensations like a "pin-prick" or discomfort in areas of an incision after a lower body lift, especially within the first few months. This feeling is often due to healing nerves or could be a small suture knot or scar tissue beneath the skin. These sensations typically lessen over time as your healing progresses. If the bump continues to bother you or if you notice increased pain, redness, or any signs of infection, I recommend reaching out to your surgeon. They can evaluate the area and ensure there’s nothing that needs additional attention. Meanwhile, gentle massage (if approved by your surgeon) and time often help reduce these minor irritations. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Probably a Painful Subcutaneous Suture If you have a localized bump in your incision line, with localized pain that feels like a 'pin', this sounds like a subcutaneous suture. This most often is absorbable, but can take 3-6 months to absorb. Rest assured, most of these digest away on their own, but if it too painful and bothersome, your PS can put some numbing medicine around it, make a small incision and remove it.

Answer: Post operative recovery Its normal to experience strange sensations during the recovery phase and the nerves disturbed during surgery begin to recover and “fire” signals. Its possible the lump is a suture that is working its way to the surface. This is very common and it may “pop” through the surface of the skin and cause a minor irritation. This typically resolves own its without any further intervention.

Answer: Post o tender scar Many thanks for your query Scar May be tender for several reasons.i assume 2 months down the line scar has got no localised infection such as stitch abscess. In the absence of infection tenderness is not in common and May be either due to sensory nerve sensitivity or unresolved deep suture. You can try gentle massage with moisturiser. In normal scar forming individuals scars can take Upton 2 years to become soft, pale and non tender but most of these symptoms will settle much earlier. If you have any other concerns please check with your surgeon

Answer: Consult your plastic surgeon Sorry for your pain, yoly84. I suggest that you go back for a checkup with your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon to have your incision site evaluated. At two months post-op, you should have been pain-free, and any pain like that can be a sign of infection. Best of luck!
