Plastic surgeons have different reasons and thoughts on wearing a strap after breast augmentation. It is very important that you speak with your own plastic surgeon regarding how long this should say on.
I recommend consulting your surgeonon this matter as most surgeons have slightly differing opinions on matterssuch as this one. In my practice, I recommend that my patients wear acompression bra for six weeks after surgery. It would be best for you to followyour plastic surgeon’s instructions exactly to ensure the best results possible.Best regards.
This is a question that can only be answered by your doctor, because length of time needed to wear the bandeau strap is based on how the implants are settling. Be sure to follow up with your doctor. Hope you are enjoying your results!Dr. JSB
For high riding implants, a bandeau can be worn for 4-8 weeks to help accelerate their descent.
Hi. I'm my office it varies and the progress of the implants and how ell they are settling. As a rule of thumb , I have my patients use it for the first 4 weeks. Sometimes after a week I stop the use of the band. I see my patients at every single post op appointment and I am able to assess how the implants are settling. Good luck, Dr PG
At 4 days post-op, I typically have my patients wearing a sports bra. If the implants need a little help to settle after 3-4 weeks, I may recommend wearing a band. Every surgeon has different post-op instructions, so be sure to consult with your surgeon. ac
Glad to hear you went through with it. Most plastic surgeons have a specific set of rules for their patients to follow. It would be best to follow up with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her directions as closely as possible to get the best result.Best of luck.
I do not usually recommend a bandeau strap after a breast augmentation. It is best to ask your surgeon what his post-op instructions are.
Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. You will find that every practice has a different "protocol"; best to run these types of questions by your plastic surgeon who knows your situation and is responsible for your care. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
I do a fair number of large implants, but I have not noticed that they cause the ribs to cave in ... nor do they seem to appear smaller over time. Hope that helps.
It seems like you are describing the natural process of healing. These scars are often heaped up in a ridge to get the best approximation of the skin for a tight closure. Collagen is being laid down to strengthen the healing wound with scar tissue. This may continue to get firmer and then will...
It seems you have little to worry about after your augmentation. A stinging feeling is natural and you will not always have the same tenderness on both sides. Just make sure that there is nothing rubbing the area and you should be okay as you continue your healing process.
Each surgeon has a specific post operative regimen that they recommend based on the technique used and their experience with patient healing with that technique. In general I recommend waiting 6-8 weeks before resuming aggressive upper body activity or lifting. When patients do...
When a silicone implant leaks it is most often due to "normal wear and tear" rather than one specific event. If the implant edges are folded over onto itself within the pocket that is sits in it can create friction on the surface and wear down the shell of the implant. An MRI is the...
