Will implants look smaller if your ribs go inward due implant pressure?

Question

I have 700cc ultra high profile implant and i am very happy, i have read large implants have more complications but to me is worth the risk even if it means more surgeries. I have read here in the site that large implants can make chest wall concave by the pressure the implant place on the ribs making them go inward. My question is.. If this happends will the implants look smaller than they look now?

I do a fair number of large implants, but I have not noticed that they cause the ribs to cave in ... nor do they seem to appear smaller over time. Hope that helps.

It is unlikely that the effect on your chest wall will make your breasts look smaller. Women tend to go larger if they need to exchange implants due to stretched skin more than rib cage depression. Best of luck

The problem was more common with large saline implants, especially the expandable type. As more fluid was added and expanded it not only stretched the breast but in some cases deformed the surface below due to the expansion pressure.It would be very rare in a large gel implant placed at surgery because it would have to fit initially.There have been concerns the ultra high profile will thin out more of the overlying breast tissue.I have done a lot of larger implants and have not seen this with the high profile implants but of course the breast tissue does thin out by spreading over the implant. The ultra high implants do not have a long track record yet to give you data.

Most implants for augmentation do not cause the ribs to cave in. Unless you loose some breast tissue, your size remains about the same. The implant itself will not get smaller, unless you have saline implants and they deflate.
