38 yo female 2 years post op chin lipo. Since the lipo, I’ve had this loose skin (possibly loose platysmal banding) under my chin. I am so ashamed to see photos of myself bc I feel it makes me look so much older than I am. Would I be a good candidate for a lower facelift or neck lift? I have already tried the Botox method that did not help.

Answer: How to eliminate loose skin on the neck: Know your best options Thank you for your question. You may be a good candidate for a lower rhytidectomy, or neck lift surgery. This procedure can address laxity concerns by tightening the skin through cervicoplasty, which requires a small incision. Platysmaplasty can also be performed to tighten the muscle bands in the neck. This dual neck lift procedure can improve the elasticity of your skin and reveal the natural contours of your jawline. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon to go over your desired results and plan the best treatment option for your specific needs.

Answer: Extended neck lift vs. lower face/neck lift Based on these photos, you seem to have both skin and muscle laxity in the neck. My first choice would be lower face/neck lift; second choice would be extended, posterior neck lift where scars are placed behind the ear and underneath the chin. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in face/neck lifts, is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Face and neck lift You are a candidate for a face and neck lift. A neck lift might not be enough and I might recommend a deep plane lift
