When can you start IVF injections after egg retrieval if you've had a BBL?

I’d like a real answer. Not to “ask my surgeon” please. I had a bbl done in a different city. I was hoping 6 weeks post op would be safe to start Ivf injections, as the liquid stuck underneath the stomach should be gone by then. Is there any significant risks associated with starting Ivf injections six week post op. For reference I had lipo360 and didn’t have drains placed. Thank you

Thank you for your question. By six weeks after your operation, most swelling and inflammation should have reduced. However, some internal inflammation from liposuction can persist for several months, which may affect hormone metabolism and fluid balance. Additionally, estrogen and progesterone from IVF can influence fat metabolism and may slightly increase the risk of clotting. However, it is unlikely to impact the survival of fat grafts at six weeks and beyond. Given that you had Lipo 360, your abdominal skin might remain sensitive, and bruising may be more noticeable. You might need to consider using alternative injection sites, such as the thigh or upper glute area.

Starting IVF injections six weeks post-BBL is generally safe for most patients as long as you’ve had a smooth recovery and your incision sites are fully healed and there’s no active inflammation or infection. IVF injections into the gluteal muscles should not affect fat graft survival, as the injections are placed deep into the muscle layer, not the transferred fat. However, if you have any lingering swelling or concerns, you may need to adjust injection placement, and an alternative injection site, such as the thigh, can be used. Always communicate with your IVF team to tailor the plan to your unique needs.
