During the operation you can sustain irritation or damage to the nerves suppling that region. Damage to the ilioinguinal nerve can result in the sensations that your are having. Most of the time this is temporary and will go away...however if the never is caught in a stitch or sustained major damage during surgery...it could persist. I would discuss this with your PS on your follow up visit as he can guide you on further management.
Having discomfort in your pubic area after tummy tuck is not unusual. This pain should decrease with time. If it is persistent then visit with your plastic surgeon
Eight months after the operation significant pain in the pubic area would be unexpected. It would be best if you checked in with your plastic surgeon.
It is normal to experience some kind of pain in the pubic area because the swelling will go down just because of gravity. So, just wear your garment, wear full, mild tight panties and rest with your legs up.You will be feeling better in couple of weeks.Dr. Cardenas
It is not uncommon to have pain such as this postop and you should consult with your PS again for reassurance.
Hi, It would not be uncommon to have pains in different areas around the incision or drains. You are very new at this point and you need to get more distance from your surgery. Having said that, it would be prudent for you to make sure your plastic surgeon is aware of your concerns and get his/her opinion as to the cause. Good luck with your surgical results. Pain is very normal and what you are describing could be nothing to worry but if your pain is getting worse everyday after surgery then you should go to see your doctor, i hope this is not your case and you will get better in a couple of days. Best wishes!
There are many sensory nerves that get disturbed during an abdominoplasty and pain in the pubic area is not ususual.
Thanks for your question. It is not unusual to experience swelling and pain in the groin and pubic region, but I would advise you to address this concern with your PS. He/she may want to evaluate you in person to rule out any complications. Best of luck.
In general, our patients do not have the pain you described. It is common to feel tight, and sore. See your Plastic Surgeon for an exam as soon as possible to rule out any complications. Best wishes!
Hello Bene40-Keloids don't usually occur around the belly button, but hypertrophic scars can occur. These scars are usually easily treated with a little Kenalog injection. If you get a tummy tuck, a bit of a hypertrophic scar may again occur, but just make sure that you and your plastic surgeon...

Tummy tucks do hurt - and at 3 weeks you are not healed. You may do better with a compression garment and a binder to give you extra support. If you feel fluid shifting, you may have a seroma. See your plastic surgeon for a check.
