Do any CoolSculpting patients not show results after 2+ months, then start losing fat?

Sometimes additional sessions are required to deliver the best desired results. CoolSculpting removes 20%-25% of the fat cells from the area treated. Your body will continue to naturally process and flush out dead fat cells for up to six months. Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting reduces 25% of fat cells in the target area per treatment. The results show gradually and can take up to 9-12 weeks to see results. Typically,
we start seeing results between weeks 4-8 after CoolSculpting. Full results are
around 12 weeks.

With
the CoolSculpting Submental Cycles, there are a couple tricks, so let me share
those with you:1.You
must have fat between the skin and muscle under the chin for CoolSculpting to
work: There are so many new treatments for submental fat, and that’s great, but
not everyone has submental fat, even if they have a prominent double chin.
Double chins can also be caused by loose skin and fat hidden behind the neck
muscles. Hopefully you saw a skilled surgeon for your evaluation, and he did a
physical (touch) exam of your neck to confirm you were a candidate.2.Use
2 Cool Mini applicators overlapped: We have found better results by doing 2
cool mini treatments, one on each side of the neck, with the center of the neck
treated by each round, in succession.3.CoolSculpting
removes up to 22% of fat in clinical studies, so you need to make sure your
expectations are that with each round of Coolsculpting, you can lose a portion
of unwanted fat, but not all of it.

Generally coolsculpting results begin as early as eight weeks with complete results by week 16. Each person metabolized the fat differently so you do need to give yourself the full 16 before assessing the final result.

The most significant changes after CoolMini occur between 2-4 months.  I personally wait to do the second cycle at 6-8 weeks after the 1st treatment.  Some individuals respond less to the treatment than others.  You should still see a change in the future.  Results are defiantly technique related also. 

I would say that results normally can be seen as soon as one month after CoolSculpting but this can take as long as 3-4 months to see the full effect.  You may want to wait another month to see if there is any improvement to your submental area.  It is helpful to examine pictures of you before the treatment and after the treatment to judge results.  

It's very unusual as my patients normally see results within a few weeks and the maximum result at 3 months post treatment.

The results in the submental area typically kick in faster than other areas of the body, and you are likely correct that swelling from the second treatment is hiding (but not ruining) the results temporarily that you should be seeing from your first. You should return in the next couple of weeks for photos so you can look at your results. It is possible that the problems in your neck are not due to fat, thus the lack of changes. Hopefully you are having Coolsculpting done at a plastic surgery practice where a surgeon can evaluate you.

I would guess that by this time, you should start seeing the results. As all have said, wait until 4 months after the last treatment to see if you get any better. There are going to be some people that don't respond as well which might require more treatments. For those that do respond, results are fairly dramatic. Having a second treatment does not affect the first one negatively. There is no optimal period to do a second treatment as far as I know either.

Thank you for your question.  Some patients see results early but in general, they say results are seen after 3-4 months.   I would suggest visiting with your doctor's office around the 3-4 month post treatment time frame and viewing before and after photos  because sometimes the difference is not noticeable until you compare side by side with your before photos.Best wishes.
