Any recommendations for surgical procedures to get closer to the jawline I had a few years ago? Had chin lipo previously. Saggings seems to be due to skin laxity/platysma muscle. Not an extreme case and not expecting a drastic difference, but curious of possibilities. Thanks!
Answer: Necklift Based on your age and phots submitted, as well as you prior history of neck/chin lipo, I would recommend a more invasive central necklift procedure where a platysmaplasty and direct fat removal and contouring is done. This will nicely sharpen your neck and jawline contour. This is a short outpatient procedure done through a center incision under your chin without any need for an incision behind you ear.

Answer: Anterior neck lift Thank you for your question and sharing your photograph. The photograph suggests that there is no laxity but rather volume deep to the platysma muscles which has not been addressed by liposuction because liposuction works on the fatty tissue situated under the skin and on top of the platysma muscles. The anterior neck lift also referred to as short scar neck lift can address the deeper seated fatty tissue under the chin in combination with reduction of the digastric muscles and lower part of the submandibular glands which together contribute to the volume that concerns you.

Answer: How non-surgical options may be right for you Thank you for your question and photo. You may benefit RF microneedling treatments to tighten and contour sagging skin while improving its elasticity. This non-surgical option uses radiofrequency energy to encourage your body’s elastin and collagen production, resulting in a tighter and firmer appearance. Horizontal banding on the neck can also be addressed with Botox injections that target the large muscle in the neck known as the platysma muscle. If submental fat is a concern, you could also consider Kybella injections. This treatment uses deoxycholic acid to dissolve fat cells under the chin to create a more contoured jawline. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon or injector. They will be able to discuss your concerns with you and determine the best course of action.

Answer: Neck Lift! This is a great procedure for men and should be done with a surgeon comfortable in addressing the superficial fat, and deep neck anatomy. The contour of your neck includes the submandibular glands, intergastric fat and digastric muscles themselves. Excess of the previously mentioned anatomy can affect contour. Incision is in the submental region and I think results can be drastic. An in person consultation can help address candidacy. If you want to chat further about options, recovery and expectations feel free to reach out. Best of luck!

Answer: Skin Tightening -- VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction, ThermiRF, Renuvion, Thermage, Ultherapy, Novathreads / Instalift, BodyTite "These are all natural parts of the aging process. What we can do is try preventative treatments or get a neck lift / face lift earlier in the aging process. There are numerous non-surgical options available, and some can be used in combination to get best outcomes, but you would need a consultation with an expert. Some options for skin tightening include: - Thermage radiofrequency to heat the skin, tighten it over time, and prevent the aging process - Ultherapy high-intensity ultrasound to contract the muscle, tighten the face and neck, and prevent the aging process - PDO NovaThreads or InstaLift threads for immediate lifting without surgery and long-term collagen production - Sculptra injections for collagen production to areas of the face and neck with crepey skin or early sagging - BTL Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Thermi250 for monthly collagen stimulation with facials - ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma), or Inmode BodyTite for internal heating and tightening with or without surgery - Fillers (or facial implants) to contour the jawline and chin to improve the appearance of the neck - Face lift / neck lift with fat grafting and fillers if you need a significant improvement I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer"
