Had coolsculpting and Got PCH, am told I will need liposuction to fix it, how painful will it be and how long is recovery? The Spa were I had it done has been great so far about it, very helpful. About how much would this cost. Wondering if I should just do a full tummy tuck?

Who exactly told you you need liposuction to correct your poor outcome--someone at the Spa where you had your problem, or and objective plastic surgeon? Has your weight been stable since your Coolsculpting session(s) or has your Coolsculpting caused scar fibrosis? Has an ABPS-certified plastic surgeon examined your abdomen and hips to determine if the fat is external or inside the abdominal cavity?You need consultation with one or more ABPS-certified plastic surgeons to examine you, recommend a plan of action tailored to your present anatomy to yield the best and safest outcome, and answer questions about pain, recovery, and alternatives such as tummy tuck (along with the relevant pros and cons and costs).Without an examination, online consultants cannot offer specific answers to your appropriate and reasonable questions, and you may even get differences of opinion!Liposuction is neither as painful or as long a recovery as non-surgical options like Coolsculpting would like to imply. This has to be done by someone very well trained and sees this often.  You can get amazing results I find that VASER is needed because the area of coolsculpting often has fibrosis.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Liposuction is not very painful.  It will feel like you did a lot of sit-ups the few days after you get it done.  You will also need to wear an abominal binder for a few weeks.

After liposuction the pain is mild and controlled with oral prescription pain medication.  Most patients are off narcotics and able to return to work in several days. If you have your liposuction surgery on Friday, you should be able to work on Monday. I place my patients in a compression garment in the operating room, and recommend a compression garment be worn (under their clothes) for 4 to 6 weeks. Good luck!

This is a good question regarding a topic which is exceedingly rare, therefore, it is hard to say exactly what is the best treatment, who is at risk, etc..With that said, I have seen one patient demonstrating fat accumulation in the region treated with cool sculpting . She underwent tumescent PAL liposuction to correct the deformity, and did beautifully. I could tell no difference in the character of the tissue , nor in the aspirate. Her recovery was no different than the average liposuction patient
