How long after BBL/breast implants can I safely undergo mid-face lift and brow lift?

Hello and thank you for your question. In short- every surgeon's practice is different. Generally, most surgeons would wait at least 6-12 months between these different types of procedures to allow things to settle and heal to a reasonable degree before the next operation. Ultimately, even though it would be safe to perform the next surgery after this time from an anesthesia and risk profile perspective, I would defer to your surgeon who performed the BBL/breast augmentation procedure to see how long they want you to wait before the next surgery (they might have some preference based on their aftercare preference to make sure things fully heal properly from their surgery before subjecting you to another operation- e.g. for prolonged positioning restrictions etc). Everything ultimately comes down to surgeon and patient preference, so always have the conversation with your surgeon(s) so you both know exactly what to expect, and so you both feel comfortable with how the procedure(s) will be performed and the timing of everything prior to proceeding. Following any type of surgery, there are typical time points of healing. After one month, your risk of blood clots (VTE or venous thromboembolism) decreases significantly. After 6 weeks, you will be 80% healed from your original procedure. It takes about one year for scar maturation and the remainder of the 20% of healing to occur. That does not mean that you cannot have additional procedures within this year. The generally recommended time period for time between surgeries is at least 6 weeks but most surgeons will wait at least 3 months between procedures to ensure appropriate down time and minimizing edema and other issues from your original surgery.

As long as you have recovered from your first operation – which can take up two or three months – then you should be then ready to have another operation.

I typically recommend waiting 3-6 months between operations to ensure full recovery of mind and body.

Thankyou for your question! The time period depends upon the amount of blood lost during previous surgeries and your individual healing process. As every patient has their own recovery time, this duration may vary. However, a BBL involving a significant amount of fat extraction may need to wait for body metabolism and blood levels. This time is about 3 months. A thorough re-evaluation must be done before the second operation.

Thanks for your question. Without any other medical considerations, 6 weeks between procedures is reasonable. BUT, considering you will be lying on the fat grafted buttock for a number of hours without movement my concerns are heightened. 12 weeks maybe more optimal for fat survival. Clotting consideration should be clearly discussed with your Surgeons. Should there be concerns regarding respiratory or cardiac issues; particularly with flu and COVID, consider a second medical evaluation clearance with your PMD. I wish you all the best!

You need to give yourself 6 to 8 weeks to heal before having more elective surgery. If you have any complications, you need to be recovered.
