I had an open heart surgery when i was 2,5 years old (asd). Never had any issues afterwards. Is it safe for me to to get breast implants and undergo total anesthesia? Serbian cardiologists are against it. Thank you.
Answer: Surgery If you cardiologist gives you approval for elective surgery, then yes, you can proceed. If he/she says no, then no. Your heart is much more important than larger breasts.

Answer: Breast implants - after heart surgery Yes should not be a problem however the anesthesia part is something to talk over with an anesthesiologist. Breast implants do not affect an ASD repair. Best Wishes!!

Answer: Can I have breast implants if I had heart surgery when I was younger? Hello, Thank you for the question. It is difficult to tell without seeing your photos, but undergoing open heart is not necessarily a contraindication for breast augmentation surgery. I would recommend an evaluation by a Cardiologist to ensure that it is safe for you to undergo general anesthesia, and also an in-person evaluation by the Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Absolutely, if currently medically cleared for anesthesia I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author.
