I'm 26, nearly 27, but feel like my eyes age me quite a bit. I'm insecure about the deep lines under my eyes, and have also noticed the crow's feet getting deeper through my 20s. Would I be a good candidate for Botox in these areas?
Answer: Treatment Options Hello, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. The under-eye area and crow’s feet are common concerns for many of our patients. Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for creating these lines, particularly around the eyes. Based on your description, it sounds like you’d be a great candidate for Botox to soften the crow’s feet around the outer corners of your eyes. For the under-eye area, microneedling is an excellent option as it helps stimulate collagen production, improving the appearance of fine lines and signs of aging. To enhance the results, microneedling can also be paired with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), which promotes healing and rejuvenation.

Answer: Botox vs Blepharoplasty Botox is great when it comes to getting rid of crows feet. However, it will not get rid of the wrinkles under your eyes. I do recommend you upper and lower blepharoplasty for fresh and younger look.

Answer: Am I a candidate? From the photos and description of your concerns you would be able to successfully treat crow's feet with Botox however it doesn't appear it would be the best choice for under the eye. Fillers would be a better choice to fill in hollow areas. We also recommend using medical grade skin care products like Transform MD and wearing sunscreen every day.

Answer: Botox As Part of PREjuvenation From the photos provided, a qualified answer to your question would be "Yes." The reason I say qualified is because what shows up in the photos under and to the sides of the eyes right now is rather minimal. With the passage of time, these will very likely become more prominent and nonsurgical treatments, such as Botox, would likely become necessary. At this stage, however, when the lines are not particularly prominent, treatment with Botox can be done (I did this for my daughters-in-law starting when they were each about 19), but would be within the umbrella of "prejuvenation," i.e. to prevent further aging. It is currently believed that the earlier one intervenes with prejuvenation, the less likely will be the future need for more aggressive, invasive rejuvenation procedures, such as surgeries, going forward. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Answer: Yes you absolutely can start considering botox for around your eyes. Do not expect the lines to disappear right away and you may need a relatively generous dose as well as staying diligent about getting treatments regularly. The other factor is that eyelid skin in general is extremely thin and especially in your skin type will be prone to showing age much earlier -- you also want to thus maximize and boost your skin as much as you can. Medical grade skincare and starting to get into the habit of doing treatments like microneedling and/or laser will really help you long term as well. I suggest you find a medspa that offers a variety of services that you trust that can take care of you longterm and provide all of these options.
