I'm not aware of any major impact on rhinoplasty surgery created by any special foods. In the early post-op period- while the packing and splint are on- we usually recommend more of a soft diet without vigorous chewing.
Thank you for the question. My usual recommendation post rhinoplasty is to stick to a soft diet. It does not really matter what foods you consume although a healthy well balanced diet is recommended. The soft diet is aimed around minimising your post operative swelling. Firm foods require more force to chew and can potentiate swelling. In your case I would just minimise your toast intake but pastas are a good choice.RegardsDr Guy Watts
Not knowing the type of rhinoplasty you had, it is a safe bet to stick to soft foods until your surgeon directs you otherwise. It is also important to not eat foods or drink beverages of a very hot temperature, because heat can cause swelling and bleeding postoperatively. I wish you a speedy recovery.
There are no dietary restrictions for surgery in terms of foods. Some surgeons prefer you be off of vitamin E and fish oil because they believe that this makes the blood thinner and increases bleeding. All the best,Talmage Raine MD FACS
In all but exceptional circumstances sinus surgery in rhinoplasty can be performed together, and I often perform these operations at the same time. Obviously an assessment of the extent of your sinus disease as well as an assessment of your desired outcomes from rhinoplasty need to be...
Dear ficullen, I would confirm with your operating surgeon what their recommendations are, but in our office we have patients clean their nose with a Q tip and half strength hydrogen peroxide a few times a day, and then follow up with bacitracin on the inside as well. Once patients are 3 days...
The important thing to avoid before rhinoplasty surgery is any medication that would thin your blood. Sex should not have any impact preoperatively if you are healthy and don't have any medical conditions. I wish you a successful surgery.
Dear JungleK,Thank you for your clinical post and photograph. By 6 months a standard rhinoplasty, which involve the breaking of nasal bones, removing a dorsal bump or improving the shape of the nasal tip should be fully healed. Slight to moderate nasal trauma will be unlikely to disrupt this,...
I might recommend a non surgical rhinoplasty first using HA fillers. Fee $1,000 range>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Great question! Every surgeon prices their procedures differently, which explains why the cost for a rhinoplasty with one physician might be different than with others. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when creating a quote for surgery. The doctors level of expertise, the...
