Does tattoo affect FUE hair transplant?

Question

I've had a FUE hairtransplant (4000 grafts) done on the 30th of July, 2015. I am thinking of getting a tattoo (whole of left arm). My appointment is on the 25th of September, 2015. The tattoo will be done over he course of 3 months. I would like to know if the pain and stress of getting a tattoo will affect the FUE hairtransplant?

Thank you for posting this question.  The short answer is no.  You won’t have a problem from the stress of getting a tattoo.  Hair is a robust part of the skin when not affected by the withering effects of a hormone called DHT, or dihydrotestosterone.  If transplanted correctly your hairs will grow whether you get a tattoo or not.  The tattoo won’t have any negative effect on hair that’s been correctly transplanted. Tattoos on the arm will not affect the hair transplants on your scalp.  Pain or stress of having tattoos on the arm will not likely be an issue.

Getting a tattoo after the transplant should not be an issue, especially considering that you will be 2 months out from the transplant procedure. At that point you can consider yourself fully healed and not have to worry about common activities like getting a tattoo affected the results of your procedure.

At two months post-op you you should be fully healed from your hair transplant procedure. A tattoo session to your arm will not cause harm to the grafts. Best of luck!

A body tattoo of any kind will not impact your hair transplant. We do tattoos all of the time on the scalp to make the hair look fuller with no negative impact on any hair transplant. (see web reference below)
