I have a complicated pmh. 5 years ago i had a case of afib which caused a dvt. I haven’t had a history of afib since and i get regular cardiology follow ups with normal ekgs. I also had a history of seizure thAt is well controlled. I’ve had a bbl 3 years ago with no complications and a c section 2 years ago with no complications. My question is with a clearance from my cardiologist would i be able to get a tummy tuck ?

Answer: Is past medical history important You may be a good candidate for a tummy tuck. Getting cardiac clearance is important considering your past medical history. There are also things we do for higher risks patients at the time of surgery which would be done in your particular case- Like giving a blood thinning shot prior to surgery. It is up to a particular surgeon to determine whether they feel comfortable operating on you with an increased risk of post op complications and whether you are okay risking another blood clot from an elective surgery.

Answer: Medical history and tummy tuck Thank you for the question. As you stated you would need clearance from your cardiologist. I would also add clearance from your neurologist. You may find that some surgeons may choose not to operate on you regardless of the clearances. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon so the appropriate precautions are taken during and after your surgery.
