Hello. Great question. Using a icy hot patch one week before surgery should not affect your procedure. I will suggest contacting your surgeon as everyone has different pre op protocols. Good luck with your procedure.
Dear Compassionate8936,Every surgeon has variations in their pre-surgery protocol. For my patients, I advise they stop any blood thinning medications 1-2 weeks before surgery. All herbal medications should also be stopped unless they are reviewed by me personally. I do not operate on smokers due to the high risk of complications in tummy tuck patients. Regarding an IcyHot pack, I would not have any issues.Good luck,Nirmal R. Nathan, M.D. Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgeons
It will be fine for you to use an Icy Hot Patch a week prior to surgery. Good luck with your tummy tuck!
Thank you for your question. Placing an Icy Hot patch should not be an issue. With that in mind, you're most likely in some sort of discomfort, so be sure to stay away from and blood thinners. Hopefully the topical numbing of the patch resolves any discomfort. I would still recommend asking your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon as he/she may have different protocol. Good luck and best wishes!
Yes. There is no problem with using the patch even up to 24 hours prior to surgery.Dr T
There would be no contraindications to use of the patch one week before surgery. Best wishes.
There would not be a problem with using an icy hot patch up to a week prior to surgery. Best wishes for a nice recovery.
Unfortunately there’s nothing that you can do to speed up the process of drain removal after a tummytuck. I would continue to wear your abdominal binder as instructed. Sometimes it’s more comfortable if you put gauze/tissues under the drains on top of the skin so the drains aren’t rubbing and ca...
I always thought that plastic surgeons were the only ones who actually cared about the shape/ size/ appearance of the belly button. But no, some patients do too! I reckon overall it's probably a good sign if you're concerned with your belly button after a tummy tuck...it hopefully means the...
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post operative difficulties. It is not uncommon for wound dehiscence to occur post op. Keep following your surgeon's post op instructions.
Hello and thank you for your question...Liposuction and tummy tuck together in the same operation is probably one of the toughest surgery, in regards to recovery, that we as plastic surgeons perform. Although it is expected to have some pain and discomfort for at least the 1st week and maybe ...
Hello Adrienne,Great question. Thank you for your pictures. You are still very early in your recovery process. Wound dehiscence is not uncommon. Follow your surgeon's post op instructions. Congratulations on your procedure.
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Unfortunately if a serum has persisted for this length of time it has likely developed a pseudo capsule around it which will require surgery to remove. I would seek out surgeons in your area willing to help, but you may have to travel. Bes...
