I’m strongly considering a septorhinoplasty as I dislike how my nose has developed a hump and deviated. It used to be straight 4 years ago and I love the appearance of it then and I would hope to get it to look the same again. It caused me to start mouth breathing for a good few years until I realised that was bad and the obvious difference in how my nose looks now. Could a septorhinoplasty make it look like before and become straight again?

Answer: Rhinoplasty and septoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from septoplasty and spreader grafts to help straighten your nose. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your questions and sharing your photos. You would benefit from having a Septorhinoplasty to correct both your S shaped septum as well as enhancing the cosmesis of your nose. I would suggest that you require the use of spreader grafts and nasal tip refinement. A nasal surgeon (Rhinologist) with expertise in perforimng complex Septorhinoplasty surgery can deliver aesthetic improvement without compromising nasal airway. Best Wishes
