Is it safe to use anti dandruff shampoo after FUE hair transplant?

I had a hair transplant using the FUE method, almost 4 weeks ago. As of day 16, I started using my regular shampoo to wash my hair (every 2 days). The shampoo that I used is an anti-dandruff shampoo. I have just noticed on a few forums that surgeon's advise against this. My surgeon did not advise myself NOT to use an anti dandruff shampoo at all. Could have i caused damage to my folicles by washing my hair using the anti dandruff shampoo?..... and if so, what are they?

Hello,
Dry scalp is fairly common after hair transplantation.  Lots of solutions here including use of conditioner, antibiotic ointment, vaseline.  A great first step is to contact your hair transplant surgeon and see what solution works best for you.

Use any hair products that your doctor recommends.  If you have concerns then ask your doctor for clarifications.  There should be no issue with dandruff shampoo but your doctor may have a different concern related to your particular case.

Yes, at 3-4 weeks, you can use any anti-dandruff shampoo you wish. All of the crusts should be done and everything should be healed.
