Hi guys! I have a lipoma on my right temple area. Noticed it a couple years ago. I have seen a doctor and got it examined, but decided not to have surgery at the time because the doctor said it can cause damage to my facial nerve. I believe it’s growing in size and I’m now feeling pressure in my right ear. I will be making another appointment tomorrow just to see if there’s other options that won’t lead to nerve damage. Does anyone have any expert with this or can give any suggestions?

Answer: Removal of possible lipoma in right temple
Thank you for sharing your question. Because a lipoma is typically pure fat, puncturing it does not impact it's appearance or feel. Likely with lancing of the cyst it diminished the pressure being applied to the lipoma allowing it to appear less noticeable. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. I would need to examine you to better answer your question. In general, lipomas are benign fatty tumors (not cancer). However, they can be bothersome, disfiguring, and do tend to get bigger with time. For these reasons, I recommend patients have them removed once...
Dear cassidymarie, lipoma usually don't create any symptoms unless it provides pressure on nerve and it should be seen on MRI. If you have pain, I suggest you to consult neurologist or neurosurgeon and get an examination.Daniel Barrett, MD
