I have been told I have stage 2 cystocele and every doctor refuses for surgery and tells me to see a physical therapist and use a pessary. I’m 35 and don’t want to live like that. I have no symptoms at all, no incontinence I just don’t like the look of it and I don’t like the wideness. I just want to do a vaginoplasty and pay for it myself, I don’t really care if the prolapse is there as long as I don’t see it. Can I do vaginoplasty?

Answer: You have the right to change what you don’t like! The short answer is yes you’re allowed to do what you choose to do with your body. This is the exact reason why “Cosmetic Gynecology” exists. Gynecologists “general gynecologists” deal with dysfunction. Meaning things have to be broken in order to be treated. Cosmetic gynecologist are different. Not only are we concerned about aesthetics, but also about function. If you’re in hopes of a tighter vagina, by having a vaginoplasty, which tightens the inner barrel of the vagina lifts the outside and all repairs are done in an aesthetic manner, then do it! If you wish to have a more elegant vulva in your opinion, you’re entitled to do so. I suggest you find a well-trained cosmetic gynecologist and explain your concerns and your desired outcomes and let your dreams come true. Best of Luck! Dr Michael Reed aka @thecosmeticgyn

Answer: Vaginoplasty will cure the cytocele Hello, vaginal laxity signs are felling vagina large and having cytocele and rectocele. vaginal tightening surgery would correct the vaginal enlargement, and also correct the cyctocele. pelvic muscle exercises would help you to feel tighter and it may be combine with surgery. I do vaginoplasty under local anesthesia and place Aptos intimate threads to the anterior and posterior vagina and correct the muscular defect if any. the procedure takes 1.5 hours. If your laxity is not much to need removal of the tissue Aptos threads placement with our cutting the vagina would make you feel tighter and correct the cyctocele.

Answer: Off course you can do a vaginoplasty! I do believe it’s been summed up by others, but a general gynecologist who does not perform cosmetic procedures will tell you no surgery is needed yet. Often, a prolapse that reaches 3rd to 4th degree will be recommended for surgery. In your case, if the appearance or functionality is not to your liking then a surgical correction of vaginoplasty (tightening the entire length of the vagina, often with a cystocele correction if needed) and a perineoplasty (tightening the opening) will achieve an aesthetically “closed” vagina which is also more snug during intercourse. It is best that you get evaluated by a cosmetic gynecologist for such a surgery. This surgery is performed on a weekly basis in my practice as the desire for improvement in appearance and function is top priority for many women. Many of my patients fly in internationally and make a mini vacation stay out of their surgery. But I do feel recovery can be rough for about a week and best to travel with someone if you plan to have the surgery away from home. Good luck with everything!
