Navel piercing after tummy tuck?

Thanks for your question! Ultimately you need an answer from your plastic surgeon. That being said, there are two different scenarios here. 1. You are happy with the shape and scar of your new belly button, but just want a piercing. I think 5 months is an appropriate time. 2.If you don't like the shape or scar of your belly button and are trying to hide or disguise it. You should discuss scar revision with your PS. Six months after surgery is a good time to discuss this option. Best of luck!

After a tummy tuck, I would recommend waiting 12 weeks prior to this piercing procedure. Your procedure must have healed nicely. 

Hello, generally I would have no reservations about my patient having their navel pierced 5 months after their tummy tuck provided everything was healing normally (no keloidal or hypertrophic scars).  It would be worthwhile first contacting your PS since they are aware of your healing progress.

I personally do not recommend for patients to get navel piercings after a
tummy tuck as the belly button has been reconstructed and has scar tissue.Scar tissue usually has less circulation than
normal tissue and piercings usually require good circulation in order to heal
properly.If you are adamant about
getting a navel piercing, I would recommend waiting 9-12 months.
