Fat deposits in upper inner eyelid. Would I have a scar if I got them removed?

The small fat pads near the inner aspect of the upper eyelids can be easily removed through a very small incision in your existing upper blepharoplasty scar.  This can be done in the office with local anesthesia and recovery should be just a few days.

The fat alone can be removed through a stab incision without need for complete blepharoplasty.  Sometimes the fat is not the problem, but rather the area next to it undergoes aging with loss of fat, in which case filling that area may be an option. See an oculoplastic surgeon.

It is important to have a very careful consultation.  Occasionally we find what was thought to be upper eyelid fat is actually fullness from a heavy eyebrow and the best treatment is actually performing a forehead lift.  Seek several consultations and make you the surgeon you are considering has the right credentials and makes sense to you.

Small pockets of upper lid fat can be successfully removed through a limited incision, usually reopening a portion of the previous blepharoplasty incision.  The recovery period is short.

If you have residual fat pockets in the upper lid that had previously had a blepharoplasty, then you can have the fat removed through the same incision.

This fat can be removed thru your old upper eyelid scar. There is no other way to treat it. The eyelid fat needs to be removed and carfefully cauterized to avoid excess bleeding.

Yes this can be removed.  The incision is small (1 cm) and the scar very much not a worry.  You old bleph scar is an example.   The area is injected and fat removed.    This should be a quite simple endeavor.  Yes it is okay  to just remove this fat.   My Best,  Dr C

It is not unusual for patients to come in who have had a blephroplasty previously and have some residual fat deposits in the upper and even lower eye lids. It is quite easy to remove this extra fat bulge but it does require an incision. In the upper eye lid we would make the incision in the old scar. If there is no extra then there would be no need to remove any more skin. If there is a little extra skin it could be removed at the same time. With the lower lid I would do it through the inside of the lower lid, trans-conjunctival.
