Why I can't close my eye or look down after ptosis surgery?

Hello I'm a girl 22 years old I just had a ptosis surgery on my left upper lid The problem is that immediately after the surgery I noticed that I can't completely closemy eye ! Also my muscule ddoesn't move with the other eye when I look down which makes me look creepy every time I look down Is this a temporary thing?? If not is there any way to fix this proplem???

Generally if you are having ptosis surgery at your age it is for congenital ptosis.  Often in these situations, the muscle that raises the droopy eyelid is abnormal.  This forces the surgeon to significantly shorten the muscle in order to open the eye.  Sometimes a sling from the forehead is needed to help open the eye.  In either of these situations, the operated eye hangs up when one looks down.  It also generally does not really match the normal side after it has healed do to a lack of a crease and contour issues.  If your surgeon did not paint a full picture of these issues in the pre-operative consultations, then yes, they need their knuckles slapped with a ruler.  Often they do actually discuss these things but it seems so abstract that it is hard to understand what is being told to you.
