It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
There are many FDA approved fillersthat are good to add volume to the mid face such as, Voluma, Radiesse, or Restylane Lyftall of these are excellent fillers if injected properly. This should be done inthe hands of a BoardCertified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist.
Hi There,Like many of the Doctor are suggesting it is great to do your research and find a Doctor that has a lot of experience with this area. Some one with good before and afters is always a great start. For my patients that are newer to fillers I may suggest Voluma or Radiesse - both yield great results for this area in my experience. Voluma is a hylauronic acid and Radiesse is a calcium based product both products can be laid on the bone or intradermally, and with proper placement can give significant lift to that area in the cheek and midface. Hope this was helpful! Best of luck.
Thanks for your question, and I always recommend that you make a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn all the details and some of the new medicines which are showcased at meetings like you are suggesting. There are now 2 HA fillers which have a mid-face volumizing indication: Juvederm Voluma and formerly Perlane, now known as Restylane Lyft. Both of these fillers are good at volumizing, and much of what we know is to know the skill level of the injector — and to determine how much product is used, as in the clinical trials for both, large amounts of medicine were used, which is just a little harder here in the States.Besides these two, some might also suggest Radiesse — which, in the right patient, does really well.Find the right injector, and get the problem taken care of.
The most important aspect to injectable fillers for mid face is to ensure that you are seeing a skilled board-certified physician who has extensive experience when it comes to fillers. Afterall, the skill of your physician is much more important than the actual filler injected and in the right hands you can accomplish great results, with a number of different brands of fillers. I suggest that you seek a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who can guide you on the right filler choice that will depend on your specific facial features and budget. When it comes to injectable fillers, there are a number of choices including Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Voluma and Emervel Volume (available in Canada and Europe) being more long-lasting, and Perlane being one of the original fillers that still has an excellent track record, as well as Radiesse and Sculptra. In our practice we tend to use more hyaluronic acid fillers especially since they are now long-lasting, but can still be dissolved which allows tremendous flexibility.
Juvederm Voluma is a great hyaluronic acid filler that is ideal for filling the midface and cheek regions. Although it is slightly more expensive than the standard Juvederm fillers, it is designed to last for around 2 years. The amount of filler and placement needs to be carefully customized to each patient. Depending on the degree of your volume loss, another consideration would be fat transfer as well. I would recommend seeking out a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Good luck!
I have been using fillers to shape the midface/cheek area for many years. I prefer the HA fillers such as Perlane or Juvederm, as they are soft and very natural. Find a Facial Plastic surgeon; plastic surgeon or Dermatologist with a lot of experience in facial aesthetics for the best results.
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry...
Longer lasting fillers like radiesse or voluma do very well for filling in cheek depressions and look great.
For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest...
