Will the skin under my neck tighten up after lipo? (Photo)

Yes you would see some tightening of the skin after liposuction and it definitely would be worth it for you to get liposuction.

Unfortunately, your Ultherapy was a waste of your time and money. You need a submental lipectomy. This consists of liposuction, direct excision of extra fat under your chin, and a platysma muscle repair (plication). You will likely not be satisfied with anything less (such as liposuction alone). Ultimately you will want to consider a facelift to tighten your skin simultaneously, but you may be able to hold off on that for 5 years or so and have the submental lipectomy now.  I have attached a link to this portion of my website, where I discuss these issues in more detail.

see some skin retraction after a liposuction procedure under the chin.
Liposuction could work well to reduce your submental fat, and if you need
additional skin tightening, a laser fiber (CoolLipo) or radiofrequency probe
(ThermiTight) can be inserted immediately after liposculpture for maximum skin
tightening, without face lift scars. I

In my practice we do liposuction with VASER here to get the most skin tightening and follow up with ThermiRF if needed.  Botox prior to treatment helps the end results and afterwards I suggest venus legacy for additional tightening and quick healing. Treatment with a radiofrequency such Ulthera Creates swelling in the dermis that gives the appearance of tightening. In the end it does not shrink the skin. Excess skin will need to be surgically removed which is part of the facelift.

 I am sorry that you are having difficulty with your neck. Ultherapy is a skintightener and it takes approximately three months to see optimal results. I always caution patients that Ultherapy will not tighten as much as a facelift or neck lift but it will tighten some.. Kybella and liposuction, on the other hand are both fat melters. Kybella requires an average of three treatments so it is slower and less invasive and more expensive. Liposuction can be done in one session. It appears from your photographs that there is enough fat pocket in your neck to warrant liposuction or Kybella  of the neck. 

Hi DJ777. There is some skin retraction/ tightening after liposuction. The final result depends on several factors including age - it tends to be greater in young patients. Looking at your photos, I would consider having a consultation about possible neck/ lower face-lift surgery - it is likely to deliver a much more improved neck contour. The issue with liposuction under the chin (submental) is that it does nothing for the deeply seated fat, loose neck muscles and jowls - which all contribute to a sense of fullness in the neck/ lower face and loss of jawline definition. In my opinion, from the photos that i see- you would not only benefit from a sub-menatl liposuction but also from a facelift/ neck lift- to get the best value out of your investment. In the right hands- it will provide long lasting results, tightest neck.

The question is always how the skin will behave.  There are many variables that affect skin retraction. The way your skin will behave can only be assessed in person. After liposuction there are several modalities that are available but at this stage of their development they have limited effect.
