I had a breast lift 7 years ago. The scars did not lighten as I expected. I had implants in 1984 & had barely visible scars & have never had a problem with bad scarring from anything else. I tried getting a treatment from a well reviewed tattoo artist who offers reconstruction & concealment tattooing; it lightened part of the scars but not much. The scars aren’t raised. I’d appreciate any advice!
Answer: Scar revision Hello and thank you for the question. Looking at your incisions it appears they have widened over time. This is not uncommon for scars, especially overtime. Ideally, the scars can be ex sized and reclosed in multiple layers leaving a fine line instead of a widened scar. This can be done safely while you’re awake and comfortable using local anesthesia. Proper post op treatment with silicone based scar therapy would help prevent this from recurring over time.

Answer: Resurfx laser can help reduce appearance of the scars paired with melarase creams to help with pigmentation Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Scars If other treatments aren't giving you the results you want you can consider scar revision. During this procedure the current scar is excised with the goal that the new scar will heal more favorably. There are many scar treatments you can try such as silicone sheets. They key is to use them consistently for several weeks.

Answer: Scar from breast lift You could be a good candidate for laser therapy. It could improve the scars. Scar revision surgery could also be a possibility. An “in person” consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon/dermatologist is necessary to determine the best course of action. I hope this helps, best of luck !
