I have had an accident which resulted in a 4 - 4.5 cm laceration in my brow area. The cut starts about 0.5 cm under the outer corner of the eye and goes up till about half of my eyebrow is reached. The cut before my eyebrow was quite deep and is healing worse than the one inside my eyebrows which wasn’t so deep. I was thinking about getting an eyebrow transplant to restore lost hair and hide about 2.5 cm of the scar. What can be done about the rest of the scar? 25 y old male, light skin
Answer: Venus Viva RF can be done to minimize appearance of the scar Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Scar I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Depending on the depth and severity of the scar, there are several options for treatment. Here are some potential treatments: -Steroid injections: Steroids can be injected into the scar tissue to help reduce its appearance. This is often used for raised or hypertrophic scars. -Scar revision surgery: A plastic surgeon can perform a scar revision surgery, which involves removing the scar tissue and re-closing the wound. This can sometimes improve the appearance of the scar. -Laser treatment: Laser treatment can be used to reduce the appearance of scars by breaking down scar tissue and promoting the growth of new, healthy tissue. -Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers can be used to fill in depressed scars, making them less noticeable. As for the eyebrow transplant, this can be a good option for restoring lost hair in the brow area. A plastic surgeon or hair transplant specialist can evaluate your situation and determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. When it comes to finding a reputable surgeon, you can start by doing research online and reading reviews from past patients. You can also ask for recommendations from your primary care physician or dermatologist. It's important to choose a surgeon who is board-certified and has experience treating scars in the facial area. Best of luck!

Answer: Professionally Perfomred Manual Microneedling + Prescription Pigment Enhancers For Improving Scar Color/Texture You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist to discuss the use of professionally performed manual (no need for the added expense and added risks fo RF microneedling) microneedling accompanied by the application of prescription pigment enhancer, such topical tyrosine and lanatoprost, for improving the superficial color and texture of the scar and blending it better with the surrounding normal skin. You did not mention how long ago the laceration was sustained. However, in general, the earlier the aesthetic intervention (ideally between one to three months following the injury, i.e. before the scar has "matured."), the greater the improvement that can be expected. Hope this helps and best of luck.
