Persistent oedema under my eyes 9 months after blepharoplasty

Question

Hello, 9 months after blepharoplasty and swelling under my eyes won't go down. Doctor says that this is not because of surgery , but I never had such bags under my eyes before surgery. Nothing helps and I did manual massages for lymphatique drainage, Accent Prime procedures, i took Diuretics, no change. I'm desperate for other opinions. Will this ever go away? What can be done to solve my probem? Should a correction surgery be done? Thank you very much all for your reponses.

If you have any sort of fillers in the past in this area, that might account for why you have this type of swelling. Old hyaluronic acid filler can persist for many, many years and contribute swelling. These old fillers can persist and cause this type of chronic swelling. Interestingly, because filler have been used for 20 years, in some cases people have forgotten about past fillers treatments.

Malar festoons are a difficult problem.  You may try a medrol dose pack or 2 to reduce inflammation in this area. Another option are intralesional steroids like kenalog.  A final option would be a revision of the lower lid blepharoplasty to remove some of the excess skin that festoons over the cheek, with care not to cause any lid lag.
