Thank you for your question and photographs. Though nothing can replace an in-person examination it appears that the discoloration is a bruise and not a hematoma. I would confirm this with your surgeon who is your best source of reassurance.
Hi Janise1, Thank you for your question and photos. It is not unusual to experience some bruising after breast augmentation surgery. Also, tightness may also be experienced as the tissues around the implants are still swollen following the surgery. It will resolve over time. However, if you experience significant change in the size of your breast and that the bruising persists, it is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for an in-person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Janise1. It appears from your photographs that you have bruising and not a hematoma, however I would still get checked out by your plastic surgeon. Hematoma after breast augmentation usually causes a fairly significant pain and asymmetry, the side with the hematoma much larger. It is still early in your postoperative course and your photos appear to show nothing seriously wrong. Check in with your doctor anyway and best of luck.
In the photos, it looks like the breasts are approximately the same size and shape. So a major hematoma is unlikely. Most likely that your bruise is just that - a simple bruise. Always best to check in with the operating surgeon if you are unsure, or have further symptoms.
It appears to be a small localized bruise. A hematoma generally presents with more extensive bruising and swelling of the breast. Stay in close contact with your surgeon and follow his or her recommendations. Best wishes to you.
Hematoma after BBA is usually diagnosed when one breast is significantly larger that the other. It is difficult to tell from the pictures, but it appears that they are approximately the same size. If you feel that one is significantly larger see your surgeon soon
The right breast looks larger than the left. If you feel more discomfort on the right, the right breast is larger, more swollen and tight your feeling you may have a hematoma. I recommend that you see your plastic surgeon soon and requests a ultrasound examination.
This is way too early to tell about this! Follow the advice of your Plastic Surgeon and wait this out.Good luck to you.Frank Rieger M.D. Tampa Plastic Surgeon
Hi 420ccOMTD, I understand your concern. It is best that you discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon as every surgeon has different pre-operative preferences and preparations. Make sure your surgeon knows what medications you are currently taking before undergoing breast augmentation...
What you are experiencing is very common and should resolve over the next 2 months. This tingling represents nerve regeneration and is a normal part of healing. If it is truly "driving you crazy", Gabapentin is a medication that may help these symptoms.
What you are describing and showing is an allergic response of some type, a contact dermatitis. This may be in response to the tissue glue effused or 2 Steri-Strips if they were used. See your plastic surgeon and ask about
