Thank you for your question, you can get a fat transfer to any part of your body if you are getting a breast reduction. However, if you are looking into getting a fat transfer on your breasts I do not recommend it since you are already getting a reduction done. I would suggest seeking a board certified plastic surgeon and reviewing all details. Best of luck!
Hello,It is unlikely anyone will fat graft your breasts and perform a reduction. However, you can fat graft other areas of your body if that is your intent. Best of lukc!
Fat transfer can be performed at the same time as a breast reduction to any area other than your breasts. If you are asking, can you add a cosmetic procedure to your "medically necessary" surgical procedure, then I would say, yes. Obviously, your insurance would not cover aesthetic fat transfer to other areas of your body.I will do a circumareolar (small) breast lift at the same time as fat transfer to the breasts, but I do not combine fat transfers to the breast with substantial (larger) breast lifts.
You are sending us doctors into a tizzy, because you didn't say WHERE the proposed fat transfer is going. I am going, first of all, to say yes on the fat transfer at the same time. Now I am going to blow up these other plastic surgeons opinions and say YES to fat transfer to the breasts at the same time. Sorry other plastic surgeons!!! I love to take out the droop on the bottom of the breasts and graft the top for long long lasting results. Great idea girl even if that's not what you meant.
Thank you for your question but I am unsure what you are asking. Do you want fat transfers to your breast at the same time as a reduction or fat transfers to somewhere else? In general one can do fat transfers to other areas of the body but I would not recommend fat transfers to the breast during a reduction. Where you put the fat and harvest the fat is something you will need to discuss with your surgeon to make sure it is a realistic expectation
Thank you for the question and the simple answer is YES if the transfer is to other then your breasts.Dr. Corbin
If you are getting a breast reduction this will make your breasts smaller; thus fat transfer can be done to any areas except for your breasts; hopefully you are talking about your buttocks.
Fat transfer to areas other than your breast can be done as long as your health is good and the longevity of the anesthesia is not prolonged. Discuss the option with your plastic surgeon but be prepared for discomfort in both regions and a more challenging recovery. Remember that you'll want to avoid pressure on the fat recipient area while you're healing. This is a minor problem. I agree with the use of antibiotic ointment to keep the area moist. This is a very common (almost expected) issue after a breast reduction. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon so he/she can assess other areas.I hope your back is thanking you and your surgeon for the...
Thank you for your question. In my practice, patients are advised to wait 6 months after completion of breast feeding before proceeding with surgery on their breasts. Be sure to consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
Very large breasts can exacerbate headaches and a breast reduction might give you some relief, but the is no way to know with certainty.
