Very large breasts can exacerbate headaches and a breast reduction might give you some relief, but the is no way to know with certainty.
Thanks for your question. Women with large breasts can suffer from chronic back, shoulder and neck pain, as well as headaches. Many of them experience immediate relief of their pain after breast reduction. Migraine headaches are a different type of headache and may not be directly correlated with having large breasts. Hope this helps...best of luck!
I've never heard or read of any association between migraine headaches and having large breasts. Most large breasted women who would like to undergo breast reduction surgery note a remarkable improvement in neck shoulder and back pain. Improvement in musculoskeletal symptoms can be dramatic. I would not undergo surgery simply to hope for improvement in migraine headaches.Best wishes.Jon A Perlman M.D. FACSDiplomate, American Board of Plastic SurgeryAssociate Clinical Prof. of Plastic Surgery UCLA/Geffen Medical SchoolBeverly Hills, California
True migraine headaches are due to a vascular condition and have absolutely no relationship to heavy breasts. But it is quite common for women with large breasts to have headaches that are muscular in origin and get better after breast reduction.
This sounds like a prolene suture that has come to the surface. It is OK to remove it. It was used to help minimize the scars.
Thank you for the question. Although breast reduction can (and is) performed under local anesthesia with sedation, this would not be my preference or recommendation. I find that the use of general anesthesia provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist provides for optimal patient comfort,...
It looks like you had some loss of the areola. Best to follow the wound care as per your surgeon. Good luck.
