This is a minor problem. I agree with the use of antibiotic ointment to keep the area moist. This is a very common (almost expected) issue after a breast reduction. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon so he/she can assess other areas.I hope your back is thanking you and your surgeon for the relief of the reduction!
Thank you for your question and picture. It seems like a stitch may have come loose and now you have a minor separation in the incision. Apply some type of topical antibiotic ointment and see your PS ASAP. This will heal up final eventaully.
Thanks for the question. Its early to talk about results .In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling.Kind regards, DR. It does look like you have a small skin separation along your nipple suture line. This is not uncommon, and should heal on its own.
Hello and congrats on your breast reduction. You look like you have a small separation in your incision that should heal up fine with some simple wound care. I typically recommend antibioitic ointment and a band-id until the small area contracts. This can take several days to a week or so. Minor wound healing problems are common with breast reduction and almost always heal without significantly affecting your cosmetic outcome. Always best to follow-up with your surgeon, good luck!
Thank you for your question. In my practice, patients are advised to wait 6 months after completion of breast feeding before proceeding with surgery on their breasts. Be sure to consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
Very large breasts can exacerbate headaches and a breast reduction might give you some relief, but the is no way to know with certainty.
This sounds like a prolene suture that has come to the surface. It is OK to remove it. It was used to help minimize the scars.
Thank you for the question. Although breast reduction can (and is) performed under local anesthesia with sedation, this would not be my preference or recommendation. I find that the use of general anesthesia provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist provides for optimal patient comfort,...
It looks like you had some loss of the areola. Best to follow the wound care as per your surgeon. Good luck.
I am sorry you are having trouble with your operation. In general if you are allergic to absorbable stitches or just sensitive, the reaction would happen all along the suture line, which it sounds like it hasn't, so I don't think you are allergic to them. Most dissolvable stitches take 3 months...
