Will 325-350CC Will Give Me a Full C Cup?

Based on your height and starting breast size, a 325cc-350cc implant should put you in the C range, but there is no real way to know until afterwards.  That same size implant on you may be a DD on some women and a B on another.  The reason is that eveyone is different with regards to their breast shape, chest shape, height, weight, shoulder width, etc.  It is always hard to know exactly what size to go, but I always ask my patients to err on the larger side, since 90% of women all wish they ahd gone a little larger by the three month mark.  I hope this helps. 

It's a great question, but it's really hard to predict your final cup size. A rough estimate would be that every 150-200cc of implant volume would increase your bra size by about 1 cup. During your consultation you'll be able to try on implants in a bra. It's important to remember that cup sizes vary significantly between different bra manufacturers, so focus on reaching your goal look and then you'll find out your cup size during a bra fitting. When considering breast augmentation make sure you find a board certified plastic surgeon who will take the time to answer all of your questions and explain all of your options, so that you can decide if breast augmentation is right for you.

Hello! Thank you for your question. In general, implant size does not correlate with bra cup size. The cup size itself will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well as who is doing the actual measurements. Thus, cup size is never a reliable indicator for your breast size. I typically encourage my patients not to communicate her desires in cup size but more on the actual look and appearance. Good communication between you and your surgeon of your expectations is warranted - choosing your surgeon wisely is the first step. Discussion of your wishes and having an honest and open dialog of your procedure is mandatory (e.g, implant type, incision, placement, lift, etc). I have found that photographs brought by the patient is helpful to get a visualization of the appearance you wish for in terms of size, shape, fullness, etc. In addition, your surgeon's pre and postoperative photographs should demonstrate a realistic goal for you. Once this has been accomplished, allow your surgeon to utilize his/her best medical judgment during the procedure to finesse the best possible result for you after preoperative biodimensional planning and fitting the right implant for your breast width. There is no way to guarantee a particular bra size. Bra sizing varies greatly between bra manufacturers and a C in one bra will be a D in another. What matters more than the assigned bra size is the way the implant looks on you. The best option for your body and aesthetic goals can be determined in a thorough implant sizing session.Implant sizing depends on several factors. One of the most important factors is your breast width. Generally, your surgeon will measure your breast width, and then provide you with a range of implant sizes appropriate for your native breast size. There are more nuances to it than just what I've described, but this approach works for most women.I usually have my patients bring in a large bra and a tight t-shirt to do sizing. I'll then choose 3-4 implants that I feel are appropriate, and have my patients place them in the bra under the tight t-shirt. My patients can then look in the mirror and get a good sense of what they will look like with the provided implant sizes. My patients like this approach and get a great idea of how they will look.By using this technique, your surgeon can outline a range of appropriate implant sizes that will be aesthetically pleasing, and you make the final decision.I hope this helps. It is very easy to be confused by this measuring system. Cup sizes are only used as estimates for clothing. Although the measuring technique for determining cup size is precise, the results of these measurements are not. Let me give you an example; weight is a very accurate measurement. However two patients that weigh 120 lbs are not likely to look alike. The same is true with two patients that have C cup breasts. This is why physicians tend to use volume (cubic centimeters or cc) as a more accurate measurement. Size is a complex decision that is not only based upon your height, weight and current cup/bra size but ALSO on also on your breast diameter, waist, shoulder, and skin envelope measurements. You are probably in theball park of what you want. You may want to perform a baggy test with the volume that you desire to see if you like the volume

As already mentioned, bra manufacturers determine what is a C cup for their brand.  Although I have resisted the notion of talking about cup size, it is such a common question that some sort of estimation would be helpful for the preoperative patient.  One approach is to buy a C cup bra in the brand you would normally wear.  Using either implant sizers in the doctors office or something that will hold water such as a Ziploc bag or large balloon, one can stuff the bra with this additional volume and have a very rough estimation of the possible change.  This is far from precise since when the implant is inside many factors will make it smaller than when it sitting on your chest.  When a C bra of choice is matched with both a 350cc sizer and your breast inside a cup with plenty of room to spare, quite likely you will not achieve your goals with that size implant.  Please recognize this is not exact science but a rough estimation of the change in volume and the implant will not get bigger once it is placed in you.  

There have been reports of an increase of 200cc being equal to one cup size change but this is such a rough guideline that it can only be used as a starting point.   A  consultation with a plastic surgeon will provide you with a better understanding of what can be expected.  

I can only recall two patients who felt like they were to large.  In general when choosing an implant the decision on the larger size is uniformly considered the best to prevent second guessing your choice.  The difference in 30cc is essentially one ounce of water.  Not enough to change your results significantly.   But, it must be stated that you will likely have less problems in the long run with a smaller implant in the long run and this is not a sprint but a marathon.  I allow the patient to make the ultimate decision with as much information and guidance necessary.

The 325-350cc implant size that you have in mind should indeed give you a full C cup breast.  In practice I sit my patients up during their operation with a breast sizer in place to determine the size implant needed to achieve their goal.  At your height and weight that size should be perfect.  Be careful though, after that many pregnancies you may need a breast lift as well.  Good luck!

Nearly every woman that comes into the office wants to be a "full C" but cup size is NOT a scientific measurement.  Victoria's Secret will "up-size" their bras to sell more making you think that your breast are bigger.  The key with sizing is communication with your surgeon through sizing, photos and any other means possible.  It will always be somewhat of a guess.

Every woman wants to be big enough, but not too big.  But most women will complain that the didn't go big enough rather than they are too big. One issue you need to address is that after 4 children, excess skin may be a concern.  Without a photo we cannot make this determination, but discuss this with your surgeon.
