Still feel heavy like milk coming in and engorged but not bad for real! Swelling is really coming down! Ladies STAY IN A RECLINER FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE! I know it is inconvenient and uncomfortable but it really makes for faster recovery!! The change from 1 Day post op to Today is pure magic! Still have numbness in nipples and tender under arm pit, still full feeling sometimes. But on a scale its maybe a 3.. My breasts are dropping more and more like i said recliner and sitting up as much as possible does work!! No I did not use a strap!! Over the muscle girls do NOT use a strap if you apply too much pressure to force them to drop you can actually cause issues with the implant making its final drop into the pocket!! If you force it before it is ready but pushing or using a strap it can cause various issues!!! Do not use one unless your SURGEON tells you to!! Finally, as far as the look goes, they are settling great my right has the bigger implant and does have a tad bit more swelling this is normal and it does look bigger which is also normal!! So if you are experiencing asymmetry issues during the first few weeks do not worry WE ALL HAVE A DOMINATE BREAST!! THE MUSCLES ARE MORE RELAXED IN THE BREAST WE USED THE MOST IN BREASTFEEDING!! That is why one breast usually settles first because it was stretched more and relaxed/contracted the most!!! The muscles always remember so it will form to the implant easier!! Do not worry I promise!! If you have any questions DM me ???????? Dr Deason Dunagan was very professional and understanding. I wore a 36dd so I didn't want to go any larger just fuller and even. I'm 5'8.5" and weigh 155 lbs so 36 dd is plenty big for my frame. All the nursing staff were great in every aspect. The overnight stay in their surgical recovery suite was well worth it. In addition to the bl and ba he also did some conture liposuction. So far that has been the most painful part. I can't wait for these girls to settle over the next few months!
My belly was lipoed on the bottom portion (belly button down) 9 years ago. I have had loose rolls above my navel and a weird appearance overall ever since. It's certainly not attractive and with the recovery of lipo I would never suggest it. Anyway, my current plastic surgeon recommended Exilis but has really downplayed down the effectiveness saying that they just haven't seen much result from it. But I think it's worth a try because there's really no other option and I just had my breasts redone so I went for it. I had 4 treatments spaced about a week apart. The RN said if I see results it would be 3-6 months from the last treatment, so May-June timeframe. I will post my before pics and update! Btw treatments last about 15 minutes and are warm but otherwise painless. They use a lot of baby oil to help the machine roll around. Updated on 30 Jan 2016: This is what my doctors office sells to use alongside the treatments. It is $70+ and use is 2x per day. Updated on 18 Jun 2016: June was the month I'm supposed to see the results from my series of treatments. I can see some improvements but I've probably changed my shape from abdominal weight machine, strenuous exercise and the treatments all combined. Is it better??? Updated on 18 Jun 2016: I also have a breast augmentation/revision/lift review with a before and after that shows my tummy results. The more I compare the more I can see benefits. They said 6 months to results!
So ready for this after winding up with DDD breasts 8.5 years ago after asking for full C with another doctor. My main concern then was to never look like I'd had my breasts done. They'd shrunk from C cup naturally to flat Bs after two kids. The stomach lipo I had done at the same time forced fat to my breasts too over the years. I'm so out of balance (tiny hips giant boobs) and tired of being self conscience. My stomach is not pretty from the lipo ???? 8 years ago but just finished 4 treatments of Exilis so hopefully will be better. I am very active, lift weights, in the gym a lot and granted I'm always wanting perfect but I will take just perky! My original plastic surgeon, NOT the dr doing my new surgery, told me to go without a bra for 2 weeks to make them more natural! Can you believe? And I did until my mom told me to stop! No wonder they are so droopy. Yuck. Updated on 23 Jan 2016: This is my before photos. Very large, heavy and droopy. These are 385 cc silicone. You can see my 32DDD bra marks from it cutting into me. My tummy is very weird from lipo at the same time 8.5 years ago. My doctor is planning 220 cc silicone with the revision. There's nothing else we can do for my lumpy tummy other than try Excilis. If I see results it will be in 3-6 months. Updated on 24 Jan 2016: I'm very nervous and really focused on nesting. Cooking, laundry, lining things up. I should note that my doctor's fee includes both an overnight stay in his facility and lipo under the armpit for smoothing. Dread the recovery so much! I wish it was right now so I could be on the other side. Started stool softener today. Will start antibiotic tomorrow night. Pretty worried that I will be too small, but 385 cc + my existing B Breast tissue = DDD. I do believe lipo in my lower stomach forced weight gain in the breatss so I was a DD after my last surgery and have grown (and had wanted to be a C) . So I've chosen 220 cc but he has 2 sizes smaller, too. Updated on 27 Jan 2016: I feel so much lighter! Dr. Dunagan said he removed breast tissue from my left breast and did lipo only under my right. Plus BOTH my scilicone implants were both ruptured at 9.5 years old! It was a 3 hour surgery. I stayed overnight which was a blessing. I highly recommend a night nurse. She was giving me shots of Demerol in my arm which I barely felt like I needed. Just the incision sites are bothering me thus far. The doctor said I will be a 32 c-d or 34 c cup. Updated on 28 Jan 2016: My husband said the doctor did exactly what I asked for, making me a c. Not a small c which was my original plan, but at the last minute decided to ask for a regular c. I didn't want to go through all this and feel like they were too small. Updated on 30 Jan 2016: Ready to not feel so drugged so going to take extra strength Tylenol in lieu of prescriptions. Also hoping this helps my tremendous bloat and constipation. The nurse said to drink magnesium citrate. Had 1/2 a bottle last night with little movement. Drank the other half this morning - hope it works! Updated on 1 Feb 2016: Gosh I feel whiny! I'm sure this comes from feeling cooped up and not enough vitamin d, but I am grumpy about my aching lower back and hugely bloated stomach. I mean 5- 6 months pregnant. I've had BM so it must be fluid retention and trapped air. I started probiotic yesterday so I hope to fix my burly self. The nurse said I still need to sleep at incline for another week and not to take extra muscle relaxers. She said lying flat may encourage implants to slip down to the sides. No thanks! On the up side I am getting out of the house more and went out for sushi yesterday and took gentle strolls last 2 days. Look considerable smaller with clothes on. Will post pics tomorrow after one week check up. Updated on 2 Feb 2016: So the nurse spooked me out today at the one week checkup saying the pregnant looking stomach and burping may be my gallbladder!!! Gosh I can't even imagine more surgery right now. I will keep on my probiotics in hopes that it's not and the bloating will recede in the next week. She said I should go to my regular doctor in 2 weeks if nothing changes. Walking now 30-45 mins per day, nothing strenuous or sweaty, around my neighborhood. Bought 2 sports bras in M and both fit really snug. Updated on 5 Feb 2016: My energy is up, I'm driving (very carefully with t-Rex arms), had bedroom time with my husband and just feel less like a patient and more like regular me! The stomach is flattening out. Definitely suggest probiotics post surgery. Also am applying Suave conditioner to my strips for 20 mins prior to each shower to soften for removal at 2 weeks check up - at nurse's suggestion. Swelling under arms has gotten 75% better. My husband said I've lost weight from eating tiny meals. Will post pics at 2 weeks. Updated on 6 Feb 2016: So I'm pretty upset that I had two ruptured implants hanging around in my body for who knows how long. And it was only 7.5 years ago with original BA. Very concerned. Have posted question on the doctors message board to learn more about how that may have been affecting my health and what on earth could have caused that so soon. I wish I had known and I would have asked for saline this time. It makes me scared to get my mammograms!! Updated on 7 Feb 2016: I am feeling a little sorry for myself. I had this surgery to look and feel better and I look like a 40 something woman who's 6 months pregnant. Of course the sports bra isn't sexy and neither is not working out! Gosh. Looking for a solution for the tummy. I've bought digestive enzymes which help immensely with the gas. I'm going to quit the 1 Flexeril at night hoping that's contributing to it. So weird. None of my clothes fit and I have to go back to work tomorrow and I'm thinking what on earth and I going to wear??? Updated on 10 Feb 2016: Very very pleased with Dr. Dunagan's work so far! I had my steri strips removed yesterday and wow. Granted they are uneven in their swelling and overall appearance but that will normalize the nurse said. She said 80%of the swelling is gone at 2 months post op and the other 20% over a year. 44g tissue removed from left breast, 24g from right. 125g fat removed under my right arm, none under left. Instructed to clean with Hibiclins and alcohol daily. Bought anti microbial gauze to wear on top of my incisions for a few days until they aren't so newly exposed. Then will begin SkinMedica Scar Recovery Gel 2x day for 3 mo. $49 for the small size! So the nurse said my colon was stunned from the medicines. I quit taking anything Sunday night and have had rebound insomnia.... But with laxative tea almost daily now plus back to work with lots of moving, things are slowly retreating back. She listened to my bowels and said they are still really quiet. I honestly don't think I will be normal until I am in the gym again. At 4 weeks post can do elliptical and recumbent bike. Can NOT wait, although I sure haven't felt like it before now. I wore a dress to work today (stretchy sheath) that felt suffocating on my chest before surgery. It was WONDERFUL! I feel lighter and in proportion!! I felt like I had stripper boobs for so long! So glad I did this. Updated on 22 Feb 2016: Today was my 1st day with no pain. 4 weeks tomorrow. Loving the results so far. Still a fair amount of swelling in places which make them look mismatched but that will change. Thinking of trying light cardio in the morning with recumbent bike and some stretching. I thought I'd be going nuts not in the gym but I honestly haven't felt like it. Crazy about how much better clothes are fitting me! I feel smaller, lighter, pain and tension in back and shoulders is gone and just feel wonderful being smaller!! I really don't think photos do it justice. High def isn't very forgiving!! Updated on 24 Feb 2016: There is still quite a bit healing and change to occur so when I get frustrated I have to remember that this was a three hour surgery with three different procedures on my breasts and it is NOT like healing from a regular breast augmentation. For instance I went to get some transitional bras today. Budget for it! I'm not the size I will be yet (even my under arms are still swollen) but I've got to have some supportive non underwire bras and a good sleep bra. I'm not sure I will ever go without a sleep bra again except on vacation or something. Wanted to get measured but my skin on my breasts are shedding like a reptile. All over, not just my incisions. It's too gross to ask someone to measure me. I fit into a 34D well. Dillards lingerie salespeople are always very helpful to me. I like Victoria's Secret too but this trip was about support. My girls don't feel good enough yet to wear anything else! Looking forward to sexy bras. Updated on 7 Mar 2016: Really terrific results so far!! Still changing a lot every week. The amount of swelling and change has been nothing like a regular BA. They don't match yet but will. The left has already dropped some. Still having morning boob, still get sore and uncomfortable doing certain things. In my mind I thought I'd be perfectly back to normal at 6 weeks but think that's not realistic. Wearing sleep bra every night and 34d bras I bought 2 weeks ago have gotten loose and gap when I sit down. I'm waiting 2 more weeks for sizing. Posting my wish boobs that i shared with Dr. Dunagan originally. My husband is crazy about them too. Totally worth every bit of trouble and $$!! I feel life a different person. No doubt my doctor is exceptional! Updated on 14 Mar 2016: All of my bras still fit! I haven't been properly sized yet, but went to try on and discard all my bras and surprise! They all still fit. I just don't have stripper boobs spilling out in them anymore. Updated on 14 Mar 2016: So I went through some closet cleaning and tried on 7 bras from before surgery and .....they all fit! But better. I was not expecting that! It's hard to imagine with so much smaller breasts they fit but I was spilling all out of them before and they really made me look even bigger. They were all Victoria's Secret brand. I still haven't been measured yet because I still am swollen on the right breast. Updated on 14 Mar 2016: My PS filed a complaint with Allergan because of my 2 8-year old ruptured implants. I was impressed because he didn't even perform the original surgery. We will see what comes of it. Updated on 30 Mar 2016: Went to PS today. I have phlebitis under my right breast. No wonder I've been hurting for 9 weeks! It's not my incision after all! Updated on 18 Jun 2016: So I love my new breasts! I never considered the healing would have taken this long but that's ok. Still swollen on right side. Nipple sensitivity diminishing, Doctor said 1 year for last 20% of swelling. I've had several thorough exams to ensure nothing was wrong with right breast. My confidence has changed so much and I fnally feel in proportion. Worth it!!! Updated on 18 Jun 2016: Happy! Updated on 28 Aug 2019: About to go through surgery AGAIN 9/25/19. I knew one of my breast had changed shape and become "high" - yep its another rupture. Apparently capsular contraction is very common after your 1st capsular contraction. New surgeon suggested I would most certainly have another rupture regardless if silicon or saline implants. Then I learned they are also recalled as having a risk of lymphoma. Allergan is not paying a dime towards the recall. Will post pics soon. I cannot believe this is happening. Updated on 30 Sep 2019: Will post pics after drains removed.
I visited Dr. Dunagan based on online research. I didn't want to go to just anyone for the procedures that I wanted. I had a breast reduction and lift, tummy tuck, and tons of lipo. At my consultation, Dr. Dunagan was very thorough. He has wonderful bedside manners. I have never had surgery before and he made me feel extremely comfortable. My procedures took approximately 5.5 hours. He called and updated my husband several times. When I woke up from surgery I was in immense pain. It was way more pain than I had imagined. I do have fibromyalgia, so it is very possible that it contributed to the terrible sensation that I was on fire. However, I am so happy with my results that I would have the procedures again regardless of the pain. Dr. Dunagan is an amazing surgeon. I have never felt comfortable with my body. For the first time in my life I am able to wear a bikini and feel confident in knowing that I look amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Dunagan.
I've always had darkness under my eyes from thin skin and capillaries. After trying eye creams and concealers I heard about filler under the eye. My face has always been thin but as I've aged it looked more hollow and sullen. I was open to trying just about anything suggested. I'd also tried Botox before and wanted it again for the 11's. After trying it once for crows feet and not being happy with the results (it just moved the wrinkles when I smiled) I didn't really want to try it again there. The nurse suggested I try it with them and I am very glad I did. The skill of the injector makes a HUGE difference! I found my doctor through a Youtube review of Juvederm under the eyes and then through my clients (I'm an Esthetician). Pros: Instant results. I am so happy with every area; lips, eyes, forehead and cheeks. Only one coworker has noticed that I had my lips done and she said it was because she was obsessed with lips. I moved to a new state recently and just got my license picture yesterday, posting it to FB with my previous picture. Everyone is commenting that the new state is doing me good and I look younger now. No one seems to realize I had the liquid face lift! I got new glasses right before the face lift and have been wearing them to hide the black eye, so even my husband hasn't noticed. It's very slight, but well worth it. I simply don't look exhausted anymore! Cons: There was more down time than I expected. The second day I had to work and my face definitely felt off/different/sore. If you can, take the next day off work. I knew I'd be one to bruise and I was warned, but I didn't think the black eye would last so long. It's my first black eye ever. I've been covering it with airbrush makeup and wearing my glasses all the time to hide it and it's worked. The nurse numbed my entire face with cream and I only felt a few pinches so the pain was minimal, even my lips! However my body still reacted and I got nauseous, then really sweaty and pale. It passed by the time they were done with the procedure. I am so happy with the results so far and wish I'd done it sooner! All the money I spent on treatments, creams and makeup could have gone towards filler! Updated on 20 Apr 2015: Now that the bruising has diminished, I'm even happier with the results. I barely have to use concealer in the morning, my lips are still full and the Botox has kicked in. I look like me, just refreshed and rested! Updated on 25 Apr 2015: Still very happy with the results. I've ditched the airbrush makeup and even my normal heavy concealer. Most of the time I only use light foundation, occasionally adding a light cream concealer on darker areas. I used to use heavy duty concealer! I've considered getting my lips bigger but believe my mind is just overthinking it. I go in for my follow up appointment in a few days.
I have been wanting BA for many years and finally did it! I have four children that range between the ages 21yr and 7yrs old. Needless to say breastfeeding 3 out 4 ruined my breast. I am beyond excited to have finally completed BA surgery on Tuesday. I had more pain than I expected but slowly feeling better.
I'm 14 days Post Op today. It's too early to see my final result, but I just wanted to give praise to Dr. Dunagan and his staff. From my first consultation to my 2nd week PO appointment today, they have all been great. I've never visited any type of medical office that shows such compassion for their patients. I would never consider using anyone else. I needed this procedure due to 82 pound weight loss, and he removed 20 pounds of skin/fat. Of course, being overweight my whole life and then the result of loose skin after weight loss, left me very self conscious of my body. Dr. Dunagan has the absolute sweetest nurses ever. They made me feel so comfortable and my whole experience thus far has been great. Of course, surgery is surgery and it's not pleasant, nor did I expect it to be, but I have no doubt I had the best surgeon and staff. Thanks so much to all!
I researched, read hundreds of reviews, and browsed countless breast augmentation photos, but never considered writing a review. It wasn't until after my surgery that I wanted to share my amazing experience. Hopefully this is not too long and easy to read! Ever since high school I have joked about getting a "boob job". I have always been a 34AA - if not less. I'm 5'7" and about 120-125 lbs. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, I loved my 34B-C breasts and was distraught when they practically disappeared after weaning my daughter. After many recommendations I went for a consultation at a very established and well-liked plastic surgery group. Consultation - The office managed to schedule me the week I called. The staff was extremely likable and made a potentially awkward experience great. The nurse asked my goals then provided me with a bra and implants to try on. Afterwards she took photos then used those with a computer program to show me an estimate of before and after. The physician was wonderful. He examined me, recommended a size, and pointed out features I never noticed. He showed me that my breast tissue was almost equal on both sides but my left chest sticks out a little more than my right. We decided on 375cc (possibly 350cc on the left) high-profile Natrelle silicone implants with submuscular placement with an inframammary crease incision. He and the staff are truly experts! I was so excited I scheduled a surgery appointment that day! Follow-up - Four weeks before surgery I went to a follow-up appointment where I was provided a shopping list, information, prescriptions, completed lab work, and paid for my surgery. Surgery - I was the first patient scheduled for the day. I am an ICU nurse so work experiences had me terrified; however, I had a great nurse, CRNA, and physician who totally eased my fears. Dr. Dunagan informed me we could use 375cc on both sides and accept the appearance I've always had or use a smaller implant on the left and appear completely identical. I left it completely with him, he's the expert! Within an hour I was on the OR table and the last thing I remember is the nurses joking with me. Post-Op Necessities - front-clasp sports bra for two weeks, pillows for sleeping in a sitting position, compression stockings to prevent DVTs the first five says, ICE PACKS (!!!), lots of help, gatorade and crackers Day 0 - There are maybe two things I remember before waking up in my own bed at home - that's good anesthesia. When I woke up I was more panicked and nauseated than in pain. It felt as if I couldn't move my arms and there was an achy tightness. My mother and two sisters stayed with me and completely spoiled me. They had a notebook with all of my prescriptions and when they were last given so I stayed on a schedule. For pain I took Demerol and Vistaril together, Zofran for nausea, and Flexeril as a muscle relaxer.Honestly this day was a complete blur! But I remember walking to the bathroom to finally look at the results and I was 100% dumbfounded at how great they looked for the very first day. I expected blood, bruising, swelling, you name it but they looked great! Day 1 - Again I don't remember much at all! I don't recall being in excruciating pain, but just enough to want to medicine. This was the last day I took pain medicine! I started taking Tylenol throughout the day and a muscle relaxer before bed after this day. The office, of course, recommended avoiding NSAIDs (Motrin, Aleve, etc.) which increase your risk for bleeding. I also continued to sleep sitting up and ice my breasts. Every day over the weekend a sweet nurse called to check in on me and update me on what I should expect. Day 7: Post-Op Apppointment #1 - Today I was able to drive for the first time. I met with the nurse for about 10 mins for her to examine me. She explained the firmness is swelling and they will "settle" into place within three months. She also reminded me to religiously obey my activity restrictions. Dr. Dunagan recommends no lifting over 5 lbs and no reaching above your head. Day 9-11: Return to Work - So I as I mentioned, I am a nightshift critical care nurse in a surgical-trauma unit. Lots of lifting, turning, pulling, etc. is involved so I was very apprehensive. When I got to work I was relieved I had an easy patient; however, I admitted a difficult patient. Everyone knew I was post-op and glad to help; however, I still found myself in situations where I was reaching and pulling. By the time I was headed home I was so sore and terrified I messed something up. They look great, but honestly I'm still scared I may have overworked. Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 12 Jun 2013: Updated on 13 Jun 2013: 2nd week follow up today. Again my office is so great, I was running errands with my cranky two year old needing a nap and they let me come in early. I met with the nurse again. Everything looks good but I got another stern warning about activity restrictions. I was given the okay to wash my hair like a normal person and wear a real bra. I also bought a scar ointment.
Pros - To make myself feel better. It exceeded EVERY expectation I had! Staff called to check on me after surgery answered all questions my husband and I had. Cons - Laser resurfacing of skin had a burning sensation for a few days but Dr. D and staff had prepared me for that. Would do it again - only QUICKER! This procedure was a bargain for the joy it brings me on a daily basis. Updated on 3 May 2016: I truly wish I had visited Dr Dunagan sooner for skincare and my facelift sooner. I continue scheduled appointments for treatments in the skincare center and by Dr Dunagan three to four times a year. Maintaining a fresh appearance after the initial investment of the facelift has been a crucial part of good skin care. Dr Dunagan always evaluates the pictures taken at each session for changes in the skin and then will ask me what area I feel uncomfortable with and would like to address. I appreciate this because what I see daily in the mirror is taken seriously first and foremost by Dr Dunagan and so begins our direction for treatment. I will continue to be a patient forever. Facelift two in the very near future.
In my practice, I feel it's important to take time to thoroughly go over a procedure, pre-op and post-op care with the patient and answer all of his or her questions so that everyone is one the same page. Oftentimes, my nurses are able to handle some aspects of this as well (such as pre and post-op care). Clear communication between you and your surgeon is the best way to ensure that you get the best results possible. So if you do not feel you got that from the doctor you met with, I would highly suggest you meet with a a few other doctors (as a plastic surgeon, I will always recommend you meet with a board certified plastic surgeon). Ultimately, a level of trust and understanding between patient and doctor is best.
It's possible but doesn't usually create a problem. I discuss this with all my patients. In my experience over a number of years, including operating on vocalists, I have not had one tell me that their voice was adversely affected. If you are a highly paid professional singer, I would recommend more than one surgical opinion because I do think that it is possible for the resonance of the voice to be affected to some small degree and this might not be something you want to risk.
In my experience I've not seen problems with the injections which have a localized effect on the muscles and not a systemic effect .
In my opinion, there are two areas on the body that respond poorly to liposuction: one is the face (although lipo may be successful on the neck), the other area is the true buttock, although lipo is excellent in most cases above the buttocks around the waistline and below buttocks on the medial and lateral thigh. In view of this, I don't recommend liposuction of the buttocks or face.
