I don’t want to get a tummy tuck just yet since I plan to have kids in the future. What really bothers me right now is the shape of my belly button — I feel like it makes my stomach look even fuller than it actually is. If my belly button looked rounder and less “frowny,” I think my midsection would appear slimmer overall. When I stand in front of the mirror and gently push in or pull down the lower belly fat that sits around my belly button, the shape becomes much rounder and more balanced. Because of that, I’m wondering if it would be possible to do a very small, targeted liposuction in that specific area to help improve the shape. I don’t want full lower abdominal liposuction, since my doctor mentioned it could lead to loose skin and that a tummy tuck would be a better option for that. But at this point in my life, I’d prefer to avoid a tummy tuck and explore smaller, less invasive options to improve the area instead.

Since you plan to have children in the future, the volume and skin structure of your abdominal area may change over time. This means that a small procedure performed now could potentially become less satisfying or need revision later on.
That said, a small, targeted liposuction around the belly button area can be done to achieve a subtle improvement in shape. By reducing the excess fat around the navel, it’s possible to create a more balanced and rounded appearance. However, this is not a substitute for a full tummy tuck it can only offer a limited improvement.
If your skin is still firm and there’s no significant laxity, this minor procedure could be a reasonable temporary option for you. But if you’re planning future pregnancies or expect weight fluctuations, the longevity of the results could be affected.
Therefore, I strongly recommend having a detailed consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon before making a decision. Your surgeon should evaluate your skin elasticity, connective tissue condition, and the fat distribution around your belly button to determine the most suitable approach for you. This way, you can achieve a safer and more satisfying result and minimize the risk of regret in the future.
