Please find something else to be concern with. This is normal. Your child is suppose to have a lower eyelid crease. It just means that their cheek is more full than you cheek. Please do not give this another thought. If you need another opinion, please see what her pediatrician has to say.
I am not sure how old your child is but you should not do anything. This is very normal and there is nothing wrong with her eyes. It appears that she has strong orbicularis oculi (tarsal) muscle, and that is fine. This line is called lower eyelid crease and it is where the tursus and the retractors are coming together and shows the lower boarder of the tursal plate. It is very normal.
Dear popielopez,Most "eyelid bags" in children are either secondary to their anatomy or secondary to some type of physiology such as allergies. If the issue is there all of the time then it is likely anatomy. If it is sometimes better and sometimes worse you may want to look at environmental allergies or food allergies. Since she is still growing the issue may change with time as she further develops. When she is older, she can decide if this issue is important for her and correct it. I have performed correction of the eyelid bad area in twenty year old patients before since their anatomy benefited from it. At twelve, however, a search for an allergy is reasonable, otherwise not much else is recommended. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
Based upon the one limited image you have shown, the lines you are referring to are normal anatomy for a child. The prominent line at the top just under the edge of the lid is the tarsal crease, formed by the natural folding of the tissues over the edge of the tarsal plate, the normal cartilage plate that supports the lower lid, and the one below is the edge of the orbital rim, or the bony rim of the eye socket. Sometimes people at this age can have conditions, commonly associated with allergies, which cause cyclical swelling of the tissues around the lids, which can then lead to creases and loose tissue at a young age. My advice is to take your daughter to her primary doctor first, or perhaps an allergist if she has such a history, and try to find the primary, or root cause of any swelling or similar symptoms which may be leading to rubbing of the eyes or the possible formation of creases there. I would also suggest that as a priority, we all encourage our 12 year olds to concentrate first on developing their character, their sense of right and wrong, expand their intellect, curiosity, and creativity, and develop good healthy lifestyle habits, including proper diet, sound exercise, avoidance of toxic chemicals, relationships, and other harmful influences, and the fine details of physical beauty will find their place in their own list of priorities. I'm not a fan of cosmetic enhancements on children this age. Best of luck.
First off, we all have at least a small degree of facial asymmetry. I would say the amount of asymmetry shown in your photos is very mild.Lower eyelid "retraction" refers to a situation when the lower lids sit in a lower than optimal position. A thorough examination is necessary in order to...
You present a very interesting case to me, and for the purposes of discussing it, there are a couple of things that come to mind. We must first think from a standpoint of causation however, and this leads to the development of a list of options for management. To begin, some people...
After assuring that the thyroid gland function is normal there are many procedures that improve the protruding eyes. Enlarging the eye socket is the most complex measure and we resort to it in the extreme situations. You seem to have slight ptosis (droopy eyelids) which is beneficial to the...
