I had non dissolvable filler in my cheeks about 2 years ago and now have what I think is Festoons right above my cheeks. It feels squishy and sometimes not as bad as other days. I also have allergies which I have to take Claritin D daily. I had under eye surgery about 3 months ago and have had a fractorl laser done last June. What else can I do?

Answer: Festoons The malar (upper cheek) festoons are created by weakening of the muscle in this area. Gravity, genetics and sun exposure cause this as we age. The soft tissues sag and begin pulling on the skin allowing fat and fluid to distort the appearance. That is causing the squishy feeling. Along with treating your allergies, avoid the allergens as much as possible and avoid other things causing fluid retention and swelling such as excess salt so that you have more less symptomatic days than bad days. Sometimes avoidance of dairy and wheat helps too. A series of radiofrequency resurfacing treatments with PRP and skin care including UV protection and Retin A may offer nonsurgical solutions and if that does not yield satisfactory results surgery may be required for complete correction.

Answer: Treating festoons It is unfortunate that you have this issue with the filler injected into your face. It would be very helpful if you found out what filler was used and if it's something that can be removed especially if this was something similar to a polyacrylamide gel or biogel. Once the volume of the filler is significantly reduced, fat grafting works in a marvelous way producing natural and almost permanent results. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
