Breast implants feel heavy on chest and are not dropping. Loosing weigh because of it.

It's is certainly  little unusual to lose weight because of breast implants, esp with relatively small 260cc implants. The "heavy" feeling however is fairly common. It could take up to 6 months for you to feel like they "are a part of you", but voice these concerns to your plastic surgeon. Although your body still can have changes following the augmentation mastopexy, at 4 weeks and with relatively small implants, it is unlikely that you will have significant changes. I would review your preop photos with your surgeon and see what their feeling is with regard to position. The tightness you are describing is seen in a small percentage of patients who take longer to "get used" to the sensation of having the implants. Provided there is no fluid or other reason for the pressure this should diminish as your body accomodates the new implants. Muscle spasm is another reason for this pressure feeling and is increased with upper extremity motion. Best of Luck!

Thanks for your inquiry , but without an exam it is hard to advise on your particular situation.  By six weeks you should be feeling well and implants have usually been dropping not rising.  I suggest you see your doctor to discuss. Good Luck.  

HI Abigail,  It is too early to say if your beast implants have reached their final position just yet. In some cases, it may take more than 6 months and up to a year for implants to attain their final position. Just remember that it can take a good 4-6 months to allow all the swelling to resolve and to let the implants drop and settle some. At 6 weeks, they should have settled a bit so since they haven't, best to see your operating surgeon so he or she can examine you in person and determine what is going on. Good luck!

I suggest you discuss your concern with your plastic surgeon. There are other reasons for your breathing difficulty after breast surgery. 

At 6 weeks, you are still healing and the implant ares till settling. Some chest discomfort may exist due to swelling and stretching. Best to review with your surgeon.

You may be developing early signs of capsular contracture.  I would contact you surgeon for a post operative appointment and examination.  Everyone develops a capsule around their breast implants, but sometimes that capsule can become hard and painful.  Early capsule formation can be treated medically, if it becomes severe than a revision procedure may be necessary.Good Luck!
